"Dinner Lady Arms" as written by Daniel Francis Hawkins, Francis Gilles Poullain-patterson and Justin David Hawkins....
We had a good thing, it was a blast.
That was a long time in the past.
You went through changes & I went away.
And I have regretted that to this day.

I may not always have quite so much hair.
But what you saw in me will hopefully always be there.
I'll never hurt you again, I swear.

So put your arms around me,
Your dinner lady arms
Your dinner lady arms

I couldn't figure out where you'd figure I'd gone
Thought that I could live without you baby I was so wrong.

So put your arms around me,
Your dinner lady arms

Forgive and forget I caused you some pain.
Find it in your heart to start again.

Now I may not ever be your Mister Right.
But I'm happy to be your mister that will do for. tonight.
I'll never let you out of my sight.

Light years passed on a Summers' day.
But it's what we are forgetting, it's not too late.

Put your arms around me, your dinner lady arms dinner lady arms
Put your arms around me, your dinner lady arms dinner lady arms

Forgive and forget I caused you some pain.
Find it in your heart to start again.
Now I may not ever be your Mister Right.
But I'm happy to be your mister that will do for tonight.
I'll never let you out of my sight.

So put your arms around me, your dinner lady arms
So put your arms around me, your dinner lady arms

I couldn't figure out where you'd figure had gone
Thought that I could live without you baby I was so wrong

Put your arms around me,
Your dinner lady arms, huh!

Light years passed on a Summers' day.
But it's what we are forgetting, it's not too late.

Put your arms around me,
Your dinner lady arms dinner lady arms !!!

General CommentIt's about a guy who leaves a girl because she gets fat (hence dinner lady arms), realises he loves her so much it doesn't matter to him, and returns to her requesting her to put her dinner lady arms around him.

General CommentWell, it could be about a fat girl, but it also could be about a girl that he went out to dinner with on the first date, and then they had a fight during the dinner, and she dumped him right there. Then, several years later they met again...

Hm... a good subject for a novel that would make. (Note to self ;)

General CommentIt`s about a couple of young lovers. She matured/changed and he couldn`t handle/deal with it so he ended it in some way.

Then we skip to the future....

He`s lost his hair, having matured, and hopes she still feels something.

"Forgive and forget I caused you pain
And find it in your heart to start again, ooooh"

Speakes for itself. As does the rest of the tune really.

    Except, `Dinner lady Arms`.

It is not a reference to her getting fat.
When i was in school back in the 80`s. If you ever fell over or hurt yourself in the playground, it was always a dinner lady who tended to your bumps and bruises.
    A reference to comfort, Maybe?
