"Attack" as written by Serj Tankian and Daron Malakian....
Breathing each other's lives
Holding this in mind
That if we fall, we all fall
And we fall alone
The cold insincerity of steel machines
Have consumed our euphoria
Transforming us into muted dreams
Dreaming of the day that

We attack
Attack, attack your fetal servitude
We attack
Attack, attack, attack with pesticide
We attack
All the years of propaganda
We shall attack

Books illustrate what we already know
Candles cry towards the sky
Racing your flags along polluted coasts
Dreaming of the day that

We attack
Attack, attack your fetal servitude
We attack
Attack, attack, attack with pesticide
We attack
All the years of propaganda
We shall attack

Attack
Attack

Breathing each other's lives
Holding this in mind
That if we fall, we all fall
And we fall alone

Breathing each other's lives
Holding this in mind
That if we fall, we all fall
And we fall alone

What's the philosophy of displaced mines The bombing of all homes and
Villages Truth is the only sword bleeding minds Bleeding till the day that

We attack
Attack, attack your fetal servitude
We attack
Attack, attack, attack with pesticide
We attack
All the years of propaganda
We shall attack

Attack all the homes and villages
Attack all the schools and hospitals
You attack all the rapes and pillages
We shall attack

We shall attack

General CommentBeing in the military, I know that a lot of your ideas about war are colored by your own biases. We have laws in war where we CANNOT attack certain things (such as medical personnel, hospitals, civilians, schools, etc.) And when they are, these actions are just as much met with punishment in the military as they are in the U.S justice system. Just because individuals have done what they thought was right for their country does not mean that was backed by our country. If you care so much about American policy, why aren’t you voting? Why don’t you know policy? Why don’t you even know the names of our leaders beyond the overused target, the president? He is not the sole maker of policy. To tell you the truth, I think SOAD was probably thinking about the Armenian genocide when they wrote it. If not, the genocide may unconsciously color their own ideas of American warfare.

General CommentThe last bit reminds me so much of the wars in Chechnya... the Budyonnovsk hospital hostage crisis, or the Beslan school siege, both perpetrated by Shamil Basayev.
Other verses seem to reference other wars.

I disagree with the view that this song is about standing up to the government... to me, it seems it's just about how mankind wages war against itself, all throughout history... that senselessly bellicose mentality.

General CommentYeah, it's one of my favorites off the new album.

I think it's about war, and how our government has handled situations by going to war when it was not necessary. It also deals with what happens in war, such as "Attack all the homes and villages, Attack all the schools and hospitals, You have attacked all the innocent villages..." I think the "we attack" line is "We" as in the U.S.

General CommentSOME of these Lyrics are wrong but I will still put up the whole song

    Breathing each other's lives

    Dreaming of the day that

    We attack
    Attack, attack your fetal servitude
    We attack
    Attack, attack, attack with pesticide
    We attack
    All the years of propaganda
    We shall attack

    Attack
    Attack

    Breathing each other's lives
    Holding this in mind
That if we fall, we all fall
    And we fall alone

    Breathing each other's lives
    Holding this in mind
That if we fall, we all fall

This song is AWSOME, I think its how when ever the U.S is at war everyone always say's "Just bomb them all and get it over with". Tthat's why it says attack ALL the homes and villages and Attack ALL schools and hospitals. Then it says you HAVE attacked all the innocent villages.

General CommentBut, yeah.... I think this song is about the war and how we attack everyone that even "hints" that they have something thtreatning. "we dream of the day we attack" means we are basically just planning wars. Somehow some of the rednecks of this country feel that there is sincerity and security in "steel machines" like guns, bombs, tanks....etc. But in reality, its all bullshit. We are just digging ourselves into a hole and the reality of "Attack" is that villages are destroyed, people are killed, and lands are polluted. And after we pillage their lands, we hang our flags to prove that we have been their and claim it as ours. Just sad.

General CommentI think this new album is differnt yet the same as all the others, its different in that it incorporates more melodic songs, like Stealing society, and kill rock and roll, yet it still has the crazy songs that we all love, like viscinityof obsenity.
