"Fabulously Lazy" as written by Nicholas John Mccarthy, Alexander Paul Kapranos Huntley, Robert Hardy and Paul Robert Thompson....
I've hardly seen her likes before
Somewhere else, nowhere else before
The girl in the spotlight evermore
Like no one before, forever more

Bloody Marys, two for tea
Bubble bath and TV
All the boys from Rock n' Roll

Sometimes she likes soul
No one sees her lift a finger
What a singer, what a dancer
What a sinner

Fabulously lazy
Fabulously lazy
Fabulously lazy
Fabulously lazy

All my work, for what it's worth
Won't do me none
Can make you feel so right
All those wins are a loss
Can't be a winner if she's never lost

Her success is divine
What a word for mine
Daytime is a tragedy
But now it smells like victory

Who does she think she is?
What a singer, what a dancer
What a sinner

She leaves the world in envy
All is now, no maybe
No one's left untouched
She's so fabulously lazy

Fabulously lazy
Fabulously lazy
Fabulously lazy
Fabulously lazy

Fabulously lazy
Fabulously lazy
Fabulously lazy
Fabulously lazy

General CommentI know it sounds stupid, but I think it's about a smart guy in a group of dumb college kids who are all obsessing about some slut like Paris Hilton, and this guy doesn't understand why.

General CommentNick Sings this :) and i agree with llamalover350 partially. I do think that it had so do with someone thinking about some slut like Paris Hilton (first person that came to mind while i just listened to this song.)

General Commenthahaha this totally does sound like paris... but i kind of have a hard time believing franz ferdinand would actually write a song about her specifically it seems kind of out of place with the rest of their stuff. maybe its about the whole paris hilton/lindsay lohan/nicole richie/jessica simpson tabloid celebrity phenomenon in general, or about popstars.

All the boys from rock and roll
    Sometimes she likes soul
No one sees her lift a finger
    What a singer

...this sounds like a lipsyncing reference (singer never lifting a finger), and the rock and roll/soul could be referring to how popstars alternate between trying to sound r&bish and emulating avril lavigne-esque "rock"

General CommentI love this song. I don't really think it's pointed at paris hilton/other such people, but it does sound a bit like them. I like to think it's not about celebrities.

General Commenti don't think it's specifically to those girls but goes out to any girl who gets by from her looks. in the first verse it shows how shes popular and the life of the party, but then he sees that she hasn't anything going for her. idk why i think this but maybe for a previous ex who saw the real side of the girl's personality.
