"God Is A Gun" as written by and Justin Kier Otep Shamaya....
A wounded world, an absent creator
Empty prayers fly through the air like burning papers

There's a monster in the garden, you call him God
There's a monster in the garden eating you alive
The only religion I know is dripping from my pen
The only religion I know is my lips kissing her skin
Out of the darkness wolves will come
Out of the dark the wolves will come

God is a gun and the bullets are free
God is a gun and it's targeting me
God is a gun and the bullets are free
God is a gun and it's on a shooting spree

There's a monster in the garden, you call him God
There's a monster in the garden ripping us apart
The only religion I know is holy poetry
The only religion I know is the heat of her body next to me
Out of the darkness wolves will come
Out of the dark the wolves will come

God is a gun and the bullets are free
God is a gun and it's targeting me
God is a gun and the bullets are free
God is a gun and it's on a shooting spree

Lost father, hollow be thy name
Where were you when they screamed your name?
Where were you when the war began?
Where were you when the babies died?
Where were you when the mothers cried?
Where were you when they changed your name?
Where were you when in the darkest night?
Where were you when they pulled the trigger?
You were the gun in the hands of the killers!
You're just a myth
You don't exist
Show yourself

You're not on the battlefield, not in the cancer wards
Out of the darkness, the wolves will claw at your door

God is a gun and the bullets are free
God is a gun and it's targeting me
God is a gun and the bullets are free
God is a gun and it's killing everything

A wounded world, an absent creator
Empty prayers fly through the air like burning papers

General CommentOnce again, I agree with BattleReadyHarlot!
This songs right title is "The Lord is My Weapon"
If you had the album, you would know that people.
I'm not sure what teh song means because I'm getting alot of mixed messages.
She talks about how society is so fucked up and sinners.
    This lyric:
"everyone you knew-everything you've ever done, suffer for your freedom
    DIE BY THE LAW! [sinner!]"
I guess that one way or another we all pay for our wrongs.

To tell you all the tryth, I'm tired and half awake. So I think that this wont do anyone much help. Sorry...

General CommentThis is the wrong title. When the full cd was released it was changed to 'Sacrilige'.

This is an amazing song though. It was the first Otep song I ever heard.

General CommentHas no one listened to the begining of Unveiled? It's a wiccan chant "Isis,Ishtar,Hecate,Kali" Emilie (The singer) is obviously a wiccan/witch, this song expresses all the rage that she as a witch as well as most of the wiccan population feels towards the hypocritical monotheists (No offence, I've got friends who are christian and stuff, don't get all butt hurt, I don't have time for it) i.e. "Woman is a devil" For a long time (1400's-1700's to be exact) the catholic church murdered millions of inocent witches and christian women alike, believing that any strong, nature loving, smart, woman as well as gypsies, psychics, herb gatherers, healers, and midwives, were in fact, the devil incarnate. This song is filled with such references, witch is why and she referes to herself as a "Sinner" or "Blasphemer" and says that we will "Burn in the pit" she's being sarcastic since most witches don't even believe in the devil or hell, but that is what the patriarchs will think will happen to us. Also "Your God is a fraud" is a reference to ... well that's pretty self eplanitory, and "The Lord is my weapon, I see Him shoot pawns" is a reference to how the christian God seems to have an inexplicable urge to slaughter his followers, or "shoot pawns" Get it? Sorry if I offended you, I really don't have any beef with Christians as long as they don't push it on me, I don't mean to insult your beliefs, just to explain the song, I'm cool with all religions, but you know, I still am a little ticked about the Burning Times, who wouldn't be? But other than that, I'm actually cool. Hope this helped. Blessed Be!
