"Shed Some Light" as written by and Brent Smith....
I'm falling apart again
And I can't find a way to make amends
And I'm looking in both directions
But it's make believe, it's all pretend

So,
Shed some light on me
And hold me up in disbelief
And shed some light on me
And tell me something that I'll believe in

It's innocence within the maze
But I have chosen the wrong way
I'm still getting over who I was
There's no sense of trust, there's no definition of love

So,
Shed some light on me
And hold me up in disbelief
And shed some light on me
And tell me something that I'll believe in

I know now, it's not who you are
It's who you know
And I see clearly now, which way to go
I remember the way I fell from above
And I recall the way I was

So,
Shed some light on me
And hold me up in disbelief
And shed some light on me
And tell me something that I'll believe in
Shed some ling on me
And hold me up in disbelief
And shed some light on me
And tell me something that I'll believe
Tell me something that I'll,
Tell me something that I'll believe
Tell me something that I'll believe
Something I'll believe

General CommentI think this is about thinking that you're in a good place in your life, then something happens that knocks you off track. And what you thought was the good place in your life wasn't what it really seemed. And you're looking for a light to lead you to where you need to be.

General Commenti think this song is about doubting your faith. he asks for some kind of sign, so he can once again believe. very good song.

General CommentI love the short String section playing throughout the song,...
It kind of distinguishes it from the rest of the album,...

He's searching for himself through faith, and the reason he's having trouble finding himself is because he's having trouble with his faith,... it's a beautiful song,...

General CommentReligion and faith are two entirely different things. This song is one of the most amazing ones I've heard in a long, long time. To hear a band like Shinedown sing about a desperate search for something like faith to hold on to is incredible.

General Commenthe is talkin about how he lost his way, and askin for some light to shed on him, and then he then finds help from friends that leads his way. Aslo he remembers why he is here and how to live his life now. And why he believes it

General CommentA good start to Shinedown's career, they could be something great, we should all appreciate that.

Another amazing song from an equally amazing album.

General CommentThis song means a lot to me. I first heard it in my brothers car...when we were driving to the funeral home my aunt was in. She was like our 2nd mother & we were her kids b/c she never had her own. Cancer killed her & the day I heard she was in the hospital I dropped on my knees & begged god to take her so she wouldn't suffer. She live another month after that so when she died & was buried on my 16th b-day I wondered if there really was a god & if he really listened to me. This song is about wondering about your faith, and being lead a stray.

General Commenti don't know what the song is about. it means a lot to me as an individual and i think that's how it's meant to be taken. it's one of those songs that no matter who you are or where you are in life you listen to it and say, "that song is written for me." and on more than one occasion i have played it and just thought. it makes me feel like there is something more to life and to just breathe and wait it out.
