"Tracking Treasure Down" as written by and Josh Damon Gabriel Molly Bancroft....
I know this will be something I remember in my head
Something I remember
Sharp words push me back, hanging on to anything I can
Anything I can

Why do you tell me only things I want to hear?
Why don't you tell me this could just disappear?

At the same time (At the same time)
You keep tracking treasure down
At the same time (At the same time)
(Tracking treasure down) Tracking treasure down
(Tracking treasure down) Tracking treasure down
At the same time (At the same time)

Cant stop I'm soaked tonight, wanna find something I believe
Something I believe
Open up, take me in, makes no sense, help me understand
Help me understand

Why do you tell me only things I want to hear?
Why don't you tell me this could just disappear?

You tell me of pirate-ships and fairy-tales
You have me wishing that everything was real

At the same time, at the same time
You keep tracking treasure down
At the same time, at the same time, at the same time
At the same time (At the same time)
At the same time

Why do you tell me only things I want to hear?
Why don't you tell me this could just disappear?

At the same time (At the same time)
You keep tracking treasure down
At the same time (At the same time)
(Tracking treasure down) Tracking treasure down
(Tracking treasure down) Tracking treasure down
At the same time (At the same time)

General CommentThis song is about a relationship that needs to end.

"I know this will be something I remember in my head"
"Sharp words push me back hanging on to anything I can"

Here she is referring to the talk she is about to have with her boyfriend, sharp words are threating the relationship which neither of them want to end.

"Why do you tell me only things I want to hear"
"Why don't you tell me, this can just disappear"

The boyfriend tells her everything is fine and the relationship is not in danger.

"At the same time you keep tracking treasure down"

Treasure here is referring to other women, this is the ultimate problem in the relationship, is that the man is in it because he does not want to be single but he is really just looking for someone better to come along.

"Can't stop, I'm soaked tonight, wanna find something I believe"

She can't stop interrogating him because she is "soaked" with information about his secret. She's just looking for some proof that he loves her and isn't waiting for the next best thing.

"Open up take me in, makes no sense help me understand"

He has opened up to her and they know a lot about each other, she doesn't understand why he doesn't love her as much as she loves him.

"You tell me of pirate-ships and fairytales, you have me wishing everything was real"

Basically he keeps telling her the relationship is perfect and that she doesn't have anything to worry about. I like the use of pirate-ship and fairytale because fairytale goes well with describing the fake relationship and pirate-ship goes well with the tracking treasure down analogy.

To sum it all up, the girl singing the song is with a man who she has fallen in love with, but he is only with her because he doesn't want to be single and he's only waiting for the next best thing to show up. She keeps hearing stories from other people about his true views on their relationship and how he is only looking for a better girl( i think this is implied because gabriel and dresden sing the chorus in the song, showing how they are telling her about the relationship ).

This part of the song sounds like shes involved with someone deceiving her.

Sounds like the person is putting on a front that what they have is real but she knows its eventually going to end

Sounds like shes using her situation as an analogy to a fairy tale such as pirates which find and steal treasure to a deceitful man which who gets involved with women and steal their hearts

Overall - Song sounds like a woman who thought she had something real with a man who put on a front and shes realizing its all not real

    General CommentCorrection of Lyric:

    "Why do you tell me
Only things I want to hear
    Why dont you tell me
    This could just disappear"

To me it sounds like she's singing, "What don't..." vs "Why don't..." Anyone else hear this too? "What don't" seems to fit better, or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part. :)

    This is my interpretation...

I know this will be something
I remember in my head (something I remember)
    Sharp words push me back
Hanging on to anything I can (anything I can)

--- She'll always remember what he the hurtful things he did and said.
--- It's too hard for her to hear she feels like her world is falling apart.
--- She's trying to hold onto anything from the relationship.

    Why do you tell me
Only things I want to hear
    Why dont you tell me
    This could just disappear

--- The boy told her all these lies to keep her oblivious.

    At the same time
    You keep tracking treasure down

--- I always take this line as he's with her
--- But at the same time looking for someone better or something else.
--- He's not satisfied with just her.

    Can't stop, I'm soaked tonight
Wanna find something I believe (something I believe)
Open up, take me in makes no sense
Help me understand (help me understand)

--- Soaked either as in tears or wandering through the streets in the rain,
--- searching for him or anything to help her understand why.
--- She wants him to love her like she loves him and take her back the way they were.

    Why do you tell me
Only things I want to hear
    Why dont you tell me
    This could just disappear

    At the same time
    You keep tracking treasure down

You tell me of pirate-ships and fairytales
You have me wishing that everything
    Was real

    --- My favorite lines <3
--- He told her the most elaborate wonderful lies
--- to make everything seem to perfect and she wishes it were the truth.

    At the same time
    At the same time
    You keep tracking treasure down
    At the same time...

I love this song so much.

General Commentyes the song is called "Tracking Treasure Down"

To me it seems like a relationship where it seemed perfect, and things were just getting started, but at the same time one of them was still in love with someone else, or looking for someone better possibly.

    "Why do you tell me
Only things I want to hear
    Why dont you tell me
    This could just disappear"

This seems like someone in the relationship prob gave false hope to the other, but they knew they could never go far enough in the relationship because they were in love with someone else at the time.

    "Can't stop, I'm soked tonight
Wanna find something I believe (something I believe)
Open up, take me in makes no sence
Help me understand (help me understand)"

Them realizing that the person there in love with cant love them back and maybe so they open up to others?

"You tell me of pirate-ships and fairytales
You have me wishing that everything
    Was real"

Again proves my point, false hope

Lyrics are great, and the trance beat makes you feel them, not to mention the video was pretty pro

General CommentI'd probably agree with xtrabiotoxin on this, it's the first idea I go in my head when I heard it.

Really good tune. Vocals go brilliantly with it.

General Commentthis is one of my favorite songs of all time!!
this song has nothing to with a relationship-it's about rolling on extacy. this is my theme song while i'm rolling and if you ever have then you know exactly what i'm talking about.

"i know this will be something i remember in my head, something i remember"-rolling

why do you tell me only things i want to hear,
why don't you tell me this could just disapper.-on "e" your going to like everything-it's a crazy fun drug.

    tracking tresure down-tracking drugs down.
but over all this lady is probably rolling with a guy that she has feelings for and he's rolling to and telling her everything she wants to hear, but in reality when they come down, he doesn't feel the same way. hence the part-"you tell me of pirate ships and fairytales, you have me wishing that everything was real."

    can't be naive-afterall it is a techno/house/trance song.
    GREAT SONG!!

General Commentwhomever enterered the lyrics here got a few of them wrong. the line "can't stop, i'm soaked tonight" is really "can't stop myself tonight" and to answer zerosine the line in question; what is written, "why do you tell me...why don't ya tell me" is actually the correct words. this song has nothing to do with rolling on e or any drugs at all, unless you are talking about that one drug we call...love.

General CommentLOL Ellie2125 I LOVE YOU! I never thought of the song that way but yea it's pretty fucking good with E.

I took this song so personal considereing what i was going through. I interpeted in what i was going through. I was involved with someone who was already taken and we had an affair. For me i felt like she was in the same position. The other person knew they shouldn't lead her on but at the same time he's pursing something with her "tracking treasure down"
At the end is what gets me where she says "you had me wishing that everything was real" That's how i felt with this guy that i knew it was wrong and it could all end but he would only tell me things i want to hear instead of giving me the reality that we would never be together.

General CommentYou guys are all wrong. This song is not about ecstacy or anything like that.

    It's about Indiana Jones.
