"Crash the Party" as written by and Damian Kulash....
You're not the prettiest girl in town
I'm not the only boy with solid clothes and solemn frown
So to hell with valentines
To hell with perfume
To hell with chocolates and picnics and Sinatra tunes
As far as rest of the girls are drowning in roses and songs he composes
And while the rest of the guys are all trying
All trying so hard

Oh girl lets a crash party
El Dorado on the lawn
Hey hey hey!
Let's burn holes in the carpets
Take a shot at this linoleum tabletop
All night long!

I'm not so good with subtlety
You wouldn't say that I'm the picture of urbanity
Never put much stock in suavity, courtesy,
Chivalry, gallantry or all that useless jewelry
And while the rest of the girls
You'll sigh for deny you and smile at you politely
And while the rest of the guys are all trying
Oh, they're trying so hard

Oh girl lets crash a party
El Dorado on the lawn
Hey hey hey!
Let's burn holes in the carpet
Take a shot at this linoleum tabletop
Hey hey hey!
All night long
All night long
Let's crash a party
All night long
Let's go
All night long!

General CommentAll of the above is pretty accurate but I think it's about escaping all the sappy love and polite attitudes, almost society. Instead of trying to swoon the ladies with 'chocolate, picnics and Sinatra tunes', they just want to go out and have fun. Such a great song

General CommentI'm pretty sure these are the lyrics:
You're not the prettiest girl in town
I'm not the only boy with sullied clothes and a sullen frown, so
To hell with Valentine's, to hell with perfume
To hell with chocolates and picnics
    And Sinatra tunes
Cuz while the rest of the girls are drowning in roses and songs he composes
And while the rest of the guys are all trying
    All trying so hard

Oh girl, let's crash the party
El Dorado on the lawn (hey, hey, hey)
Let's burn holes in the carpets
Kicking, shouting, dancing on the tables all night long

I'm not so good with subtlety
You wouldn't say that I'm the picture of urbanity
Never put much stock in suavity, courtesy, chivalry, gallantry
    All that useless jewelry
But while the rest of the girls still sigh for the night he was smiling politely
And while the rest of the guys are all trying
    All trying so hard

Oh girl, let's crash the party
El Dorado on the lawn (hey, hey, hey)
Let's burn holes in the carpets
Kicking, shouting, dancing on the tables all night long
(Oh girl, let's crash the party)
    All night
(Let's burn holes in the carpet)
    All night long

In any case, this song is hilarious and fun and very straight up. I don't think an analysis is necessary. ;)

General CommentI think this is a cute song. I think he's basically saying you know, he's never gonna be the most popular guy around and neither is she but it doesn't mean that will stop them from having a little fun with their own mischief. I like the to hell with part. Their songs really flow well.

General CommentSure it's pretty self explanatory, but I think it's especially cool b/c it's a big celebration of all those unconventional couples out there - to hell with chocolates and romance! Can't stand that stuff! ;)

General CommentI'm pretty sure this song is about casual sex, which kind of trips me out, but I really like the first part of the song - I think it's fun. It's kind of like, screw it if we're not Barbie and Ken!

General CommentI think this songs about simplicity. Think about it "Cause while the rest of the girls are drowning in roses and songs he composes And while the rest of the guys are all trying All trying so hard" instead of making her a song or trying really hard to please her he takes her to crash a party and have fun "Oh girl lets the crash party El Dorado on the lawn hey hey hey! Let's burn holes in the carpets Kicking, shouting, dancing on the tables All night long!" thats how i think of it. LOVE THIS BAND THEY R AWESOME!
