Gravity, gravity, why oh why you try to fail me
Never you mind, never you mind, never you mind it's entertaining
Is for a while, just for a while, your crocodile smile now is fading
Maybe I lied, maybe I lied, maybe I lied but it's entertaining.

Oh how I'd cut you to the bone.
Oh how I'd cut you to the bone.

This creeping and seething
I pour it on to make you grow
While I'm waiting for the lights to change.
Your love that is weakening
A last embrace before you go
Are you waiting for the lights to change.

Why try to fight, why try to fight, holding on tight but your hands are shaking
I'm pulling you down, pulling you down, from this dream you are never waking
What cannot see, what cannot see, what cannot see cannot try to lead me
I know my own mind, know my own mind, know my own mind and I'm not crazy.

General CommentThis just struck me last night, but I think this song is about trying to do something you've been doing easily without a second thought all your life, but failing miserably. "Gravity, gravity, why oh why you try to fail me" describes something you have taken for granted all your life all of the sudden faltering or going awry. "This creeping, and seething/I pull it on to make you grow/While I'm waiting for the lights to change" reminds me of waking in the middle of the night and fumbling to turn on a light so I can see what the hell I'm doing, but having a hard time doing so and getting pissed off.

Tinfoil's interpretation makes a lot of sense too. I really like the atmosphere the textured guitars create, sounds a bit like Hybrid to me.

General CommentThis song was on the OC last Thursday, and uh I think I'm in love with it. Yay, & I got first comment. :D

I think it's about someone who's trying to fight love with someone else, and gravity is pulling them down into it.

General CommentI think this song is a warning to someone that the voice of the persona is a bit of a mentalist. The author is falling off the earth (failing gravity), lying and threating to "cut you to the bone" (probably not literally. probably).

Then again the last bit gets very possessive. Don't fight me, you're coming down too. The voice's comment at the end asserts that he is not crazy, suggesting that someone else has asserted that he is.

This song is very creepy and mildly disturbing. Beautiful, also.
