Can't feed my family on just $20 a day
Can't live my life like this, a life on the highway
While a powerful man sleeps in a house of white
I sit and ponder, how the fuck does he ever sleep at night?

Do they have a cold day when it's the innocents who die?
War makes their bank accounts rocket to the sky
No, probably not but still we continue on
It's always been this way, it seems we've always been wrong

Was it ever right?
Was it ever wrong?
Will it even matter
When I'm dead and gone?

I wonder do you have a clue what I'm talking about
This world is so fucked-up and it's tearing my heart out
'Cause a hungry child, they don't understand
The dead can't feed a family or feed a punk rock band

How heavy can the days of living on this planet get?
Yes I miss my kids and yes I cry tears of regret
Does it make a difference today or any other day?
It makes me feel like my home is rotten when you're away

Was it ever right?
Was it ever wrong?
Will it even matter
When I'm dead and gone?

But that's how the end always ends

Was it all in vain?
Was it all for nothing?
I've given everything
But that's how the end always ends

Sad.

General CommentMy two cents.. Song is about how fucked the world is behind the scenes to the blind, and the things the band has done/tried to do to open other's eyes while still trying to make a living. Do the elite feel remorse pretty much? Probably not, but how do they sleep at night? Money is the root of all evil. (Hence the "War profiteering is killing us all" album title.) Music with meaning these days just doesn't mean as much, and it's sad.
