If I don't say this now, I will surely break
As I'm leaving the one I want to take
Forgive the urgency, but hurry up and wait
My heart has started to separate

Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Be my baby
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Be my baby
I'll look after you

There now, steady love, so few come and don't go
Will you won't you, be the one I always know?
When I'm losing my control, the city spins around
You're the only one who knows, you slow it down

Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Be my baby
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Be my baby
I'll look after you
And I'll look after you

If ever there was a doubt
My love she leans into me
This most assuredly counts
She says most assuredly

Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Be my baby
I'll look after you
After you

Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Be my baby
Oh, oh

It's always have and never hold
You've begun to feel like home yeah
What's mine is yours to leave or take
What's mine is yours to make your own

Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Be my baby
Oh, oh

Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Be my baby
Oh, oh

Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Be my baby
Oh, oh

Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Be my baby
Oh, oh

my sister recently saw them in concert (lucky her) and she told me how a guy and a girl was gonna go to that concert for the girl's birthday, but then the guy got sent to iraq so he wrote a letter to The Fray explaining his situation, so before they were gonna play this song, they pulled out his letter and read it to the crowd, and then called the girl down to the front and sang the song to her. that's so cool!

'forgive the urgency but hurry up and wait' how clever is that!? contradiction of terms but it makes sense.. sort of saying; don't let me rush you but please don't take your time.. it's gorgeous..

Musicians are always on the road. The author wonders how long his girlfriend will stick around, because of the demands of his career...("So few come and don't go.") He wants something he can come home to, something constant and comforting (When I'm losing my control, the city spins around. You're the only one who knows, you slow it down.) Someone who will always be there for him. ("Will you won't you, be the one I always know.")

He is asking her to be patient. ("Forgive the urgency but hurry up and wait.") He's asking her to be with him, and he'll take care of her and love her no matter what. "You've begun to feel like home." How beautiful is that.

This was the first love song that Isaac ever wrote. This is a great song to hear live because he gets everyone into it by having the crowd sing the Oh, Oh, Oh part.

"So few come and don't go. Will you, won't you be the one I'll always know?" is just such a beautiful line that I can easily relate to. Love this song!

this song makes me cry every time. i wish i could sing, because i would definately sing it to my guy.

well. he's not MY guy. yet. and i'm hoping ya'll can help me with this.

so i met him summer of 2004. and i don't know if you guys believe in love at first sight - but i sure as hell do. i saw him, and i remember thinking "he's going to be impossible to forget." my friends even remember my face when i first saw him. i melted. the funny thing is, i'm the only one who thinks he's even remotely attractive. don't get me wrong...i'm not like a loser or anything. i just knew from that moment...he's the one.

by the end of the summer, we were dating. my god, i fell really hard and fast. we broke up after a short time, but still stayed in contact. now it was summer 2006 and i hadn't seen him alone since summer 2004. but, then, we decided to meet up. i had a boyfriend at the time, but i didn't give a shit. it was my baby, adam. i got to his house, looked into his beautiful brown eyes, and there i go again. melting.

you see...he has some problems. he had add and adhd. he has trouble accepting love. from anyone, even his family. he would push me away, then pull me back. i KNOW he's the one. i KNOW it. he just won't let his emotions show.

i was talking to him on the phone the other day, and he said the most amazing thing i have ever heard. the said "the reason i've been avoiding actually dating yous is because i know that if we date, i'm afraid that i'll do something or say something so incredibly stupid that you will never speak to me again."

i just want him to fucking let go, and love me. i know it's in there.

this song described everything i feel for him and more. i'm going to play it at my wedding. hopefully with adam.

if any of you read this far...i hope you can help me with a cute way to show him, possible with this song?

This is an awsome song. I sung it to a girl who is now my girlfriend once I figured out how to play it. It's a great love song and just by reading it you can figure it out

I really hope that this song does NOT become their next single because of what the song has come to mean to me. I don't think I could take every other couple that I see claiming this song as "their song" because they heard it on the air five minutes ago. The reason is that very few people in the world get to experience a connection with another person that is as deep as this song describes. To me this song is what true love is supposed to feel like to a man that is completely infatuated with a woman. One of the reasons that this is the best love song out there is because there is no mention of the physical attraction that is stressed too much in other songs that are supposedly about the same topic. The attraction shared in this song is emotional, mental and spiritual. Not to say the physical attraction isn't there, its just not stressed as much which is the way it should be.

The singer feels so strongly about the woman he is singing about that he feels as if the feelings that he is keeping inside will rip him apart. "My heart has started to seperate" Finally he knows that he cannot contain them anymore and wants her to know what he is feeling. "If I don't say this now I wall surely break"

One of the main reasons he feels this way about her is becuse she is one of the people in his life that he wants around forever "Will you, won't you be the one I'll always know?" He needs her because she is the person that can always make his life slow down when problems arise and he feels that everything is going too fast and he can't really keep up. "When I'm losing my control, the city spins around, you're the only one who knows, you slow it down."

The chorus is his proposal to her to become his. "Be my baby" and in return he offers to "Look after you". He wants to satisfy her every need and desire if she is willing to become his.

Any time she is unsure or fearful about something he is there for her to rely on. "If ever there was a doubt, my love she leans into me."

Next its probably the best few lines of the song. "Its always have and never hold" this implies that the singer has had these feelings for a really long time possibly this girl was one of his best friends and he started developing feelings for her and he could always hang out with her or "HAVE" time with her but he never could tell her how he felt he could never "HOLD" her. "You've begun to feel like home" is one of the best ways to describe a love that is almost unconditional. The feeling that is usually associated with "home" is one of comfort and security, contentment and love. These feelings have been personified by this person that he is completely immersed in. The last line of the stanza is great as well becasue he is selflessly giving all he has to her and she now has unrestricted access to his life. "What's mine is yours to leave or take, what's mine is yours to make your own.'

I know that my comment is probably too long but that ok because this song has such an impact on my own personal life.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
