Just stop, enough of the venomous critical comments on my life
Just stop the judgment and all of your pseudo-involvement in my life
Sit back a moment and look at the miracle starting in the light
Don't stop a moment and let the incredible happen knowing that

All that you want is to criticize
Something for nothing
And all that I want is forgiveness one more time
To be the best in the world

Just stop with all of your little deliberate problems with my life
Enough of all the crippling, terrible pain we feel inside
Step back a moment, remember how the miracle started in the light
Take back the torment, I'll only enjoy this moment knowing that

All that you want is to criticize
Something for nothing
And all that I want is forgiveness one more time
I know that
All that we want is to feel inside
Some kind of comfort
And all that we've done
We can't hide
We'll be the best in the world

All I ever wanted was to be a real source of compassion
From the moment that we found ourselves drowning
All I ever wanted was to be a real source of compassion
From the moment that we found ourselves drowning in

All that you want is to criticize
Something for nothing
And all that I want is forgiveness one more time
I know that
All that we want is to feel inside
Some kind of comfort
And all that we've done
We can't hide
We'll be the best in the world
We'll be the best in the world
Just stop, enough of the venomous critical comments on my life
Just stop the judgment and all of your pseudo-involvement in my life

i think it's just about anybody who has something negative to say just to be a bitch. it's about anyone who is always bitching. JUST STOP! get over yourself!

i heard disturbed on rockline last night. david said this song was for the people in relationships who look for something to argue about, who look for a way to criticize to "just stop".

This song does an amazing job of conveying the purpose that was in mind when it was written. As soon as i heard, i instantly thought of the many friends that i have that are in desctructive, combative relationships where all they do is argue for the sake of arguing. I also feel that this song could be applied to all of the people who bitch about the state of the country/world but are unwilling to actually do anything about it.

Why the hell can't people look in the lyrics on the cd before they post incorrect lyrics? Wouldn't that be easier for us all?

It's about a situation where your other half is always trying to come up with reasons to argue with you, and you are constantly apologizing, and constantly asking for forgiveness, over and over again, and the frustration that comes with it. The song is asking "that person" to just stop.

I know that this is not the actual meaning that david had in mind. But does anyone find it ironic that while this song is the newest single david is being criticized by a lot of fans about his work, the band's work, touring(ozzfest), and of course all the things people "swear they heard david say in the live radio interviews"( Friggn' misquotes). If you listen to the song keeping this in mind it kinda makes sense.

Of course we all know that this can't be the meaning because the song was written a while before Dabid started being criticized.

@ Iniquity Symptom Maybe Dave had an idea what would happen. Maybe he is making up for his own mistakes.

@ All Maybe any song that speaks about relationships can be seen as a song from humanity to humanity, if that makes any sense. (One example: From the poeple to the goverments. )

Cajun Girl

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
