You never listen to me
You cannot look me in the eyes
And i have struggled to see
Why it's so easy to push me aside
I no longer believe
That you were ever on my side
How could you know what i need
When I'm the last thing on your mind

Too out of touch, out of touch, to touch you
Too out of touch, out of touch, to touch you
Too out of touch, out of touch, to touch you
Too out of touch, out of touch, to touch you

So disconnected
Don't feel the motions again
So disconnected
Everything goes over your head
So disconnected
You got me hanging by a thread
So disconnected
When will this cycle end

You don't really know me
I don't think you've ever even tried
Put on the same routine
And so you never have the time
What do you want me to be
Don't you want me in your life
I feel so incomplete
You left me too far behind

Too out of touch, out of touch, to touch you
Too out of touch, out of touch, to touch you
Too out of touch, out of touch, to touch you
Too out of touch, out of touch, to touch you

So disconnected
Don't feel the motions again
So disconnected
Everything goes over your head
So disconnected
You got me hanging by a thread
So disconnected
When will this cycle end

It's to hard to just move on
It's easier said than done
It's too hard to just move on
It's easier said than done
It's too hard to just move on
It's easier said than done

Too out of touch, out of touch, to touch you
Too out of touch, out of touch, to touch you
Too out of touch, out of touch, to touch you
Too out of touch, out of touch, to touch you

So disconnected
Don't feel the motions again
So disconnected
Everything goes over your head
So disconnected
You got me hanging by a thread
So disconnected
When will this cycle end

So disconnected
Don't feel the motions again
So disconnected
When will this cycle end
(so disconnected, so disconnected)
When will this cycle end

These two sections of lyrics pretty much explain what my relationship is like with my ex...

"You never listen to me, you cannot look me in the eyes and I have struggled to see, why it’s so easy to push me aside I no longer believe that you were ever on my side, how could you know what I need? When I am the last thing on your mind"

The two main parts are "so easy to push me aside" and "the last thing on your mind". She says that I mean a lot and I'm her best friend, but never really shows me or makes me feel that I am what she says. I get pushed away by her for other things and sometimes I feel like she doesn’t think of me at all.

"You don't really know me I don't think you ever even tried, we're on the same routine and still you never have the time. Who do you want me to be? And do you want me in your life? I feel so incomplete, you left me too far behind"

The key part in this section is "do you want me in your life", It doesn’t feel that she want me in her life basically.

"we run in circles again... " is what's posted.

God who typed these lyrics? Comon ppl, take some time to neat and actually put the right lyrics... Anyways, this is the song that made Trapt my favorite band. Its not my fav anymore, but this is the one that got me. Its so awesome. I think its about, not neccisarily a romantic relationship, but with any1. Some1 wasnt listening to him. Its about someone being discconected with reality. Its someone arguing with him and not listening to a word he has to say. Thats my two cents neways.

Correct lyrics: You never listen to me, You cannot look me in the eyes and I have struggled to see, why its so easy to push me aside I no longer believe that you were ever on my side How could you know what I need? When I am the last thing on your mind

(Chorus) Too out of touch out of touch to touch you Too out of touch out of touch to touch you Too out of touch out of touch to touch you Too out of touch out of touch to touch you So disconnected, go through the motions again So disconnected, everything goes over your head So disconnected, You got me hanging by a thread So disconnected, When will this cycle end?

You don't really know me I don't think you ever even tried We're on the same routine and still you never have the time Who do you want me to be? and do you want me in your life? I feel so incomplete, you left me too far behind

It's too hard to just move on It's easier said then done (x3)

(Chorus) Too out of touch out of touch to touch you Too out of touch out of touch to touch you Too out of touch out of touch to touch you Too out of touch out of touch to touch you So disconnected, go through the motions again So disconnected, everything goes over your head So disconnected, You got me hanging by a thread So disconnected, When will this cycle end?

I rather think this song is about a relationship or a friendship in which one of the partners turned away but never really left the other. So the relation turned to a kind of loveless routine ("We're on the same routine and still you never have the time") because no-one of the two wants to be the one to end the relation/friendship. ("When will this cycle end?") But by living this kind of not-realtin (or however you like to call it) the lyrical I gets quite bitter and begins to doubt if there was ever a real relationship between the two.

    Memory

I feel you nike or and1. This chick I thought was really interested in me. Tries to tell me She loves me, she wants me, she wants things back to the way they were before. And I'm sitting her trying to explain to her while she's dating some other guy. That I love her more than anything and what not. And she tells me she's sorry and what not. Yet she won't prove shit to me. She keeps running back to him and he's probably cheating on her as well. And I feel I'm the last thing on her mind anymore. She never listens to me on anything. Tried helping her fix her goddamn problems all the time. Ugh.

Anyways this is what I think it means. It's the same shit I'm going through with my so called ex/fling?

You never listen to me, You cannot look me in the eyes and I have struggled to see, why its so easy to push me aside I no longer believe that you were ever on my side How could you know what I need? When I am the last thing on your mind

I try telling her how much I love her and what not. And she can't even see me, she has her eyes in some other direction it feels. I can't understand why she keeps pushing me aside when I keep getting back up to prove to her over and over again. I cannot feel that I can believe anymore or anything about how she feels because she won't even prove shit to me. And she won't ever even bother to be with me like she so called proclaims to. Then she's like you should be with someone lse and chasing someone else. How can she understand what I want when she can't even think of how what I want or how I feel about her. When I'm right there in front of me.

So disconnected, go through the motions again So disconnected, everything goes over your head So disconnected, You got me hanging by a thread So disconnected, When will this cycle end?

I'm always going through maybe she will finally but she never does. She tells me she does then changes her mind and goes back to him every time and it causes me to smoke cigs again when I'm trying to quit. It's so goddamn stressful. She acts like she does but she doesn't do nothing. And I'm always at the short end of things. I don't know what to do anymore with her. Wondering when will she quit playing these fucking head games and start proving instead of talking it.

You don't really know me I don't think you ever even tried We're on the same routine and still you never have the time Who do you want me to be? and do you want me in your life? I feel so incomplete, you left me too far behind

She doesn't even seem to really know me at all. Cause if she did she would see everything I'm saying and proving to her. She told me a few months ago that she was in love with some other guy and her ex still. Broke my trust because I thought I was the only person she loved. Talked about wanting to gain my trust to be a good girlfriend to me everytime I asked and yet when some other dude ask she says yes. And told me the reason was because didn't hear me ask her or some bullshit like that. She wants me in her life but doesn't. And I'm sitting here wondering if she really wants me in her life or is she just using me for the gain. I feel incomplete because she's broken my black broken heart over and over because she leds me on. And by dating that other douche bag. I feel left behind.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
