"My Own Design" as written by Aaron Montgomery, Peter Charell, Chris Brown and Simon Ormandy....
I've opened up my eyes, so tell me what I see
I've opened up my mind, so tell me how to think
Use your big words and show me how to speak
You can't live your life through me
I can't believe you think it's that easy

Your walls of pride are only fencing you in
Your ego's been playing games with your head
You're not the mastermind
I am a product of my own design

Following you and your promised guarantees
Free to choose as long as I live your dreams
You say my own weight could never be carried
I'll agree to disagree, I can't believe that you are that naive

You were my eyes
You were my ears
You were my conscience all these years

No more
My vision has never been so clear
Looks like i have no one left to fear

General CommentThis song is amazing! I think its about someone who was leeching on to (Chris in this case) and used to control him and turned him into someone who he is not. But in this song, he's explaining how he's taking his separate ways in where he is himself - and not the person who was "created".
Personally, I think this song is centered around individuality and understanding that its not necessary to follow other people's perceptions on what a proper person is - just be yourself.
This is by far my favorite song on the album, the singing is amazing, riffs are awsome!, simply a great track.

General CommentIt's about someone who's fed up with having every aspect of their lives dictated by some authority figure such as a constrictive parent or mentor, wishing to break away and forge their own path and develop their own distinctive legacy. They've begun to realise that their own desires and aspirations may not exactly match up with those who've had a stake in their fate for some time. I think we all hit this stage around about the culmination of high school, at which point we're flung into a world that really is foreign to us.

General CommentOh, and the lyrics are a bit off by the way.

It's not "Your walls are the only fence in your way", but "Your walls of pride are only fencing you in".
