Love me cancerously
Like a salt-sore soaked in the sea
High-maintenance means
You're a gluttonous queen
Narcissistic and mean

Kill me romantically
Fill my soul with vomit
Then ask me for a piece of gum
Bitter and dumb
You're my sugarplum
You're awful, I love you!

She moves through moonbeams slowly
She knows just how to hold me
And when her edges soften
Her body is my coffin
I know she drains me slowly
She wears me down to bones in bed
Must be the sign on my head
That says, oh
Love me dead! Love me dead!

You're a faith-healer on T.V.
You're an office park without any trees
Corporate and cold
Gushing for gold
Leave me alone

You suck so passionately
You're a parasitic, psycho, filthy creature
Finger-bangin' my heart
You call me up drunk
Does the fun ever start?
You're hideous and sexy!

She moves through moonbeams slowly
She knows just how to hold me
And when her edges soften
Her body is my coffin
I know she drains me slowly
She wears me down to bones in bed
Must be the sign on my head
That says, oh
Love me dead! Love me dead!

Wow! Uh!

Love me cancerously
How's your new boy?
Does he know about me?
You've got the mark of the beast
You're born of a jackal! You're beautiful!

She moves through moonbeams slowly
She knows just how to hold me
And when her edges soften
Her body is my coffin
I know she drains me slowly
She wears me down to bones in bed
Must be the sign on my head
That says, oh
Love me dead! Love me dead!

Oh, Love me dead!

They just played a lil acoustic session with a local radio staion before their show last night here in Sacramento. The singer explained that this song was actually about his friend (matt, the bands drummer) who had a bitch girlfriend that he refused to leave. He didn't go into much detail about the things she did other than say they went to Outback Steakhouse where she explained that she was a vegetarian right before she ordered chicken fingers. In Matt's defense, he said that he was young. And that she had boobs.

I love this song so much. I first actually heard about this band at the panic at the disco concert i went to. I got a sticker from this dude on the fueled by ramen street team. Its like the coolest sticker ever too. I love the "you're awful, i love you" things. Haha. As for the meaning, i agree with the people above. =]

personally. i think its a booty call kinda thing. she just uses him and "loves him dead". he hates her for having control over him but is totally in love with her! "hows your new boy does he know about me?"-->she has a serious boyfriend that she wants to be serious with but hes still her booty call..... thats just me. maybe im totally off! idk youd have to ask ludo!!

I like the "Fall Back" guy theory, but I prefer the "I Like Bitches" theory.

I have a friend and this song sounds just like him. He likes bitchy chicks. He's just one of a million guys who hates the way they treat him, but can't deny it turns them on.

i can't get enough of the music video and the singer's voice and just the whole song! there's just something humorous about it all. i think the song is about a guy who is in a love/hate relationship with a girl. he can't get enough of her even though he knows she uses him and abuses him. he'll do anything for her even though she wears him out. at the end she has dumped him for someone else. and in some way he knows its best for him but he still wants her to "love [him] dead"

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song "Fortnight" by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word "fortnight" shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
