"Son Of A Plunder" as written by and David/donegan Draiman....
Tell me you like it
Tell me you like it
You say you found yourself a new sound
The shit's loaded and ready to go
A bit too much just like the old sound
Already heard it for the hundredth time
One hundred more, all have the same sound
Running around with all the sheep that you know
"It sounds sublime, they're breaking new ground"
"They're sure to have another hit this time"

Come on, can't you just leave it alone
It doesn't have any soul
Just find a thing of your own
And stop pretending to know

As the countless numbers hunger
For worldwide renown
All the pimping sons of plunder
Will roll up their sleeves
All searching for the answers
They don't even care to know
Give it to me
Give it to me
You like it?

I'm still surrounded by the "new sound"
I've had enough and I'm ready to go
A stranglehold throughout the world now
The new obsession will fade in time
I thin reminder of the past now
All convoluted, hardly ready to go
Their whines and moans will never last now
I think you've given us our fill this time

Come on, can't you just leave it alone
It doesn't have any soul
Just find a thing of your own
And stop pretending to know

As the countless numbers hunger
For worldwide renown
All the pimping sons of plunder
Will roll up their sleeves
All searching for the answers
They don't even care to know
Give it to me
Give it to me
You like it?

As it's blown apart
Hundreds thrown away
Makes me question, just what I believe
Brothers torn apart
Mindless drones enslaved
Makes me search for an answer
I don't want to know
It's like a plague from below
Killing all that I know
One hundred voices the same
Drench their sorrow in fame

As the countless numbers hunger
For worldwide renown
All the pimping sons of plunder
Will roll up their sleeves
All searching for the answers
They don't even care to know
Give it to me
Give it to me
You like it?

As the countless numbers hunger
For worldwide renown
All the pimping sons of plunder
Will roll up their sleeves
All searching for the answers
They don't even care to know
Give it to me
Give it to me
You like it?

Tell me you like it
Tell me you like it

General CommentOkay, besides the obvious fact that this gons is called "Sons of Plunder," this is a good job.

"Sons of Plunder" is about the recent American obsession with getting famous, and how easy it is now to form a band with almost no vision at all that uses the same tired formula as the rest of the genre (I think this is David's dig against the genre of pop).

And so now we come to the countless number of sheep that want to be in that band or win 'American Idol' just to crank out the same songs after they've had their spotlight, and the sons of plunder are there to help them along.

This is such a great song, and I congratulate David, Dan, and Mike on their awesome album.

What has pop culture come to?

General Commenti agree with fuzzy penguins...

i think its anti-rap, or whatever...

it all sounds the same, and would disturbed really use the word "pimping" unless they were referring to the people who think of themselves as "gangsters" :P

    great song

General CommentI think it's "world wide renown", not "World wild renown". It makes more sense. Though I haven't read the official lyrics. World wild renown doesn't make much sense ;P
Anyway not much I could say about the meaning without repeating what others have said. Basically sounds like he's sick of everyone trying to be famous by doing the same thing and it should be left alone.

General CommentI did just as you said Blank Canvas. On the album cover, every other lyric page, and every mp3 site I have checked, it is "Sons of Plunder". Hell genius, listen to the damn song. That should tell you its sons of plunder right there. Check your info before you start calling others fools.

    General CommentFrom David:

About the whole trend of these bands that all sound exactly like one another that all the labels seem to keep snapping up. No one is identifiable anymore. Not by their look, not by their sound, not by anything. It's just another band wearing suits, another band wearing ties.

General Commentbecause now one can quite say it...

it's about music, and BS, and wasted time.

it's about the cookie cutter bands and, fuck them.

    it's about being yourself.

General CommentI agree with Fuzzy. It is Sons of Plunder!! The back of the cd should be enough proof itself. This is like my favorite Disturbed song. Ever.
