Crash and burn, crash and burn, crash and burn.
Patience is the hallmark of the old and the infirm.
The lived and learned, lived and learned, lived and learned
Outlived their lust and traded want in for concern,
Singing "that's all right."

So come on down, come on down, come on down.
Get out your pestilence and vice and pass them round.
We'll blow this town, blow this town, blow this town.
Jump off this ship before the shit just runs aground,
Singing "that's all right."

But it's a disaster.
It's an incredible mess, but it's all we got now.
Howling with laughter, panic, alarm, and distress,
But it's all we got now.
Yeah, that's all we got.

Oh, heads or tails, heads or tails, heads or tails?
Are you dumb enough to break the mould, or smart enough to fail?
Happy trails, happy trails, happy trails.
Can't beat a little bit of envy in your sails,
Singing, "that's all right."

But it's a disaster.
It's an incredible mess, but it's all we got now.
Howling with laughter, panic, alarm, and distress,
But it's all we got now.
Yeah, it's all we got.

It's a disaster.
It's an incredible mess, but it's all we got now.
Howling with laughter, panic, alarm, and distress,
But it's all we got now.
Yeah, it's all we got.

It's a disaster.
It's an incredible mess, but it's all we got now.
Howling with laughter, panic, alarm, and distress,
But that's all we got now.
Yeah, that's all we got.
Yeah, that's all we got.

General Comment"It's a disaster, It's an incredible mess, but it's all that we got now" pretty much sums it up. I'd call it embracing a failure instead of abandoning it and having nothing.

I especially like the line "[are you] smart enough to fail." Everyone encounters situations like that.

General CommentThis song confuses me, along with a lot of other Ok Go songs, but it's still amazing.
But in a way, pro-voice, I think you're right. Totally just accepting what you're given and laughing at life and totally as you just said, "embracing a failure".

General CommentThe backing vocals during the "crash and burn" parts remind me of 'Damnit Janet' from Rocky Horror Picture Show.

General CommentThis song, along with Television, Television and others are quite odd, possibly ironic, to me anyway. I read the lyrics, and they aren't exactly happy, in fact some are almost depressing, but Ok Go have a way of making me break out a huge smile and feel really good, no matter what they're actually singing.

General Commentwtfstonernerd, agreed. my dad is a big fan, too, and he pointed out that while the music is upbeat, the lyrics are actually kind of horrifying in some respect.

I love the line, "Howling with laughter, panic, alarm, and distress. But that's all we got, now." It's like, so much is going on, people are losing their minds, but it's really all we have as humans in insane situations.

General CommentI always imagine this song as a kind of reference to FireFly. The lyrics "We'll blow this town, blow this town, blow this town.
Jump off this ship before the shit just runs aground,
Singing "that's all right." They kind of make me think of Mal's "To hell with it, let's start a fight and get out of here before we get killed".

Might just be me being a geek, though.
