There's a target on the audience
We're only in it for the money
We took the movement to the market
We totally sold out

Excite me, excite me
Nothing really excites me
There's no connection at all

There's vultures praying
On the underground
iI's just fashion and rebellion
It was better in the basement
Don't fail, the pretenders in the streets

General CommentI don't mind at all that they "sold-out". Friends of mine who have never had any interest in politics at all... ever... are now hearing Against Me! and giving a shit. So, if it makes people start giving a damn, i'm all for it.

General CommentMaybe its harder for you to understand why certain people are so mad at against me's decision to sign onto Sire Records.

If you had begun listening to against me when they just released their debut demo, and once knew them personally, and can remember basement shows where they were still playing only acoustic songs, you'd be more upset than you are now.

If you've ever felt a sense of camaraderie singing along to songs like "those anarcho punks are mysterious", knowing that you too were going to one day absolve yourself from the capitalist bullshit society you were stuck in at the time and become something more than a nine to five worker for some corporation that doesnt do anything worth shit when you got older, then maybe you could understand why some exfans feel so betrayed.

It's disappointing. It's like the disillusioned child who grows up and finds out people aren't as fucking good as they were told they are. What happens when our favorite bands who reinforced our decision not to let our lives be run by consumerism sell out to the same system they used to (and we still) fucking oppose?

General CommentNo, they sold out. Whatever happened to 'reinventing axel rose'? Stadiums, warped tour, and MTV isn't reinventing shit. It's the same spectacular nonsense as always.

Listen to the music, not the artist.
