"Kill the Music" as written by and Jordan Taylor Buckley Andrew John Williams....
Stutter step to the beat of a disparaged lover
Dumb and pulsing we've become
The bedroom door is an old black lung
It's arrhythmic
Uninviting and pliable
With the noble irreverence of shrapnel she came for us
Bore into our head and found thoughlessness
Never minded the faithless courage of shame or the bravery of oblivion, I'm on her mind and I'm never coming back
If two timing is what it takes then we both know one take is all we need
We're not equipped to stay unloved
But it's all we've got and we're not at all alright
Come on baby and give me the creeps
Either you or I or both must go
Either you or I or both must go
I'm on her mind and I'm never coming back
If two timing is what it takes then we both know one take is all we need
We're not equipped to stay unloved
But it's all we've got and we're not at all alright
There's no difference between being holy and alone
That's why I'm eagerly fleeing the scene
Lead footed
Baby return the favor and leave somebody you love
If they come back they're drunk and they're lonely
We all get lonely
God forbid we indulge when at sea
Just the tempest, the temptress and me
Naturally bored thriller
Nobody knows the trouble I've been or the exacting improvement of sin
I'm handing myself over
I'm turning myself in
War has no glory like a woman ignored
So here's to the empires polluted with dead
And the truckers wives who erected them
I know the stripper's real name
Stop me if I'm wrong

General Commentgerard way from MCR is on this. i don't think it's one of the strong points on the new album, but thats just my opinion. as for the meaning, i have trouble with any of their songs.

    General CommentI love this song.
I think it's about two people in a really boring relationship that keeps them togheter just to avoid loneliness. I also think that they are trying to work on their sex life.
Or maybe I'm just kinky like that.

And yeah, Gerard sings in it. And it's fucking awesome.

General CommentI think this song is about the difference between the ideas that people have about being in a rock and roll band and what it's actually like....alright thats what keith said in rock sound

General CommentI also think alot of the analogies are to do with groupies "we're not equipped to stay unloved"

General CommentI have been told that this song is an assault on "fake" hardcore bands. When he says "Either you or I or both must go" he means that if the scene keeps going the way of bands like Atreyu then he's leaving ("That's why I'm eagerly fleeing the scene") The last line, "I know the strippers real name", sounds like he's talking about M. Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold, who comes out with a stage name, covered in makeup and whoring himself and the music. It's a fucking awesome song regardless.

General CommentWhat do you mean by bands like Atreyu? Atreyu is a friggen sweet band! They play an awsome sick show!

But yes, this song is awsome. it seems like it's about 2 peoples boared with eachother, yet can't really seem to come to an end to it... and in the end, she's a stripper... WHOO!

General Commentumm they're going on tour with story of the year and from first to last soon and the song has gerard from MCR on it so i really doubt it's about hating on your so called "fake hardcore bands."

kinda sucks to see them working with crappy pop bands lately.

i dc though they're still fucking amazing.
    and it's christmas right now.
    merry fucking christmas.

General CommentWithout naming names *coughA7Xlostprophetslinkinparkcough* this song certainly seems to be about bands who abandon their roots in search of fame. Bravery of oblivion to my mind evokes how it is to not get recognised for what you do, but still do it cos you know it's good. Also some parts refer to how things will be if original bands do die out, and how we'll hark back to the good ol days of ETID and Norma Jean where it was done for love of it all. Keith Buckley rules!
