"Black Dress" as written by Sean Thomas, Darren Cordeux, Joel Vanderuit and Karl Ammitzboll....
I dug you up this morning and took you home.
To have you here beside me, cold but close,
I made my mind up last night that heaven just can't have you.

I made you breakfast but you would not eat. so I took your black dress off and washed you clean.

The sheets are creased from your last day, a silhouette of where you laid.
They'll find your headstong in the yard with your black dress and my guitar.
I'll carry you back to your grave, where you and I will always stay.
I close the casket, it gets dark, they'll find us in each others arms.

General CommentThe first time I heard this song I was in a car at night time, so the atmosphere was perfect for this song. Thus it struck a chord with me- the song is beautiful and melancholy, and the lyrics are morbid but also have a pure quality about them. I think it's about losing someone and not being able to let go, although this is pretty self explanatory. I just wanted to comment on how much I love this song. It means so much more though because the lover can't come to terms with the fact his loved one is gone, and is in serious denial. It is so beautiful because he is so naive- believes that she's not really gone and if he digs her up he can have her forever; if he can just make her eat or clean her, then it's as if she never left. It's so sad it makes me want to cry.

General CommentNot so horrible. It's about undying devotion I think. He's dying in his dead lovers grave so he can be with her.

General CommentThis song is so beautiful, yet so morbid. The music takes it to a more beautiful part, and you get swept up in the music before listening to the lyrics. It is definitely about undying love and devotion. Brilliant.
