"When I Had You With Me" as written by and Matthew Mark Mchugh....
A-nother day goes by, it goes by.
Still I am far away
From your side, from your side.
And Oh my heart, how it aches sometimes
It aches sometimes
And though we're apart
I've got you on my mind.

You're on my mind
You're on my mind
You're on my mind.

You're on my mind
You're on my mind
You're on my mind.

The end of this road
You'll never know, you'll never know.
And all that we have
We'll never hold, we'll never hold
And somedays I, just can't seem to find
Seem to find
A single way
To get you off my mind.

You're on my mind
You're on my mind
You're on my mind.

You're on my mind
You're on my mind,
And one day when all this travelling has ceased
I will lay my head and rest my feet
Dream of all the days when we were young and free
When I had you
When I had you with me
When I had you with me, yeah.
When I had you with me.

General CommentThis song is just beautiful... Really.. I can't believe it hasn't got more comments. I'm OBSESSED with this song. I think it's about an ex-love of his that he still thinks about, whether she does or not. Mostly he is OK, but sometimes he can't get her out of his head and it hurts.. It's exactly how I feel about my ex. I love "I will lay my head and rest my feet,
and dream of older days when we were young and free" because that means when he has some quiet time, she is the first thing that comes to him... And he remembers how in love they were. It's beautiful.

General Commentwow, only 3 comments? This song is fabulous! I've learnt it on guitar and I sing it whenever I'm missing my man. I always feel that it's about him being away on tours and not being with his wife/girlfriend. Even if that's wrong, I like my interpretation. It reminds me of a time when I didn't go a single second without thinking of my man, haha! Love it.
