Don’t you know, were talkin’ about a revolution that sounds (like a whisper)
Don’t you know, were talkin’ about a revolution that sounds (like a whisper)

While they’re, standing in the welfare lines
Crying at the doorsteps of those Armies of Salvation
Wasting time, in the unemployment lines
Sitting around, waiting for a promotion

Don’t you know, were talkin’ about a revolution that sounds (like a whisper)
Poor people gonna rise up, and get their share
Poor people gonna rise up, and take what’s theirs

Don’t you know ya better run run run run run run run run run run run run
Oh, I said ya better run run run run run run run run run run run run

‘Cos finally the tables are starting to turn, talkin’ bout a revolution
Yes, finally the tables are starting to turn, talkin’ bout a revolution
Oh no, talkin’ bout a revolution
Oh, while they’re,
Standing in the welfare lines
Crying at the doorsteps of those Armies of Salvation
Wasting time, in the unemployment lines
Sitting around, waiting for a promotion

Don’t you know, were talkin’ about a revolution that sounds (like a whisper)

And finally the tables are starting to turn, talkin’ bout a revolution
Yes, finally the tables are starting to turn, talkin’ bout a revolution

Oh no, talkin’ bout a revolution
Oh no, talkin’ bout a revolution
Oh no

General CommentI'm not sure, but I think the original version of this song is by Billy Bragg, or so I've heard. I have to admit though, Tracy pulls it off with both finesse and style. This song is amazing vocally and musically.

General CommentThis isn't exactly about the song, but about the artist, I was dumbfounded after seeing how she sung live, she doesn't need voice editing, her voice was incredible!

annaS I completely agree, a lot of power, yet she isnt screaming or anything she's simply using the music, the lyrics, and her incredible voice all together to create a lot of power!

this is also one of my favorite Tracy Chapman songs.

One day, this will be an anthem for people! Maybe not now, or in 50 years, but one day!
