"Towards the End" as written by Robert Westerholt, Sharon J. Den Adel and Martinus J. E. Martijn Spierenburg....
The turn against
The world we know
Now our destiny
Will be decided
We have to send our brothers in arms
With pain in our heart
We watched them go
Will they return?
Truth is we had no choice
We'll try to shield those we can
No better world
Let this end
Mothers cry
Our boys die
But we'll stand 'till the end

General CommentIt is a song about war or any sort of conflict, but I never put in modern perspective before. I always had the images of something more Mediaeval in mind.
Yours makes more sense though since the the conflict America's involved is probably what inspired them to write it.
    Class song though, very epic!

General CommentI love the images this song cascades through my head. I see a man and a woman, screwing over the world for their own gain. Then I see everyone else in the world, men, women, even children, banding together aginst this new threat. They don't really expect the human race to survive, but there's nothing else they can do.

Now isn't that the most typical American answer? There are other countries who feel much worse pain than just

General Commentgah, I got cut off. Anyway as I was saying, America is not the only counrty to feel pain. Perhaps you should walk a few paces away from your own doortep, then you may understand the world a little better. This song was NOT written to underly the suffering of ONE country, least of all America.

General CommentGet off your damn high horse, SorrowFox.

aots16 never said the song was only meant to be about America, or that the song even had anything to do with America at all. They only expressed that it is easy to relate this song to their country's overall current feelings, something I can very well understand.
