Our worlds are all so dangerous
Don't you wonder off again
Let me take you by the hand and show you...the way

The fear
Tripping...over myself
Flying...no fights to wield
Sylvan....everything that I see ?
Climbing...I'm not just a pig...me ?

I've gotta get outside myself
Gonna leave this human race
Gonna live like no one else
Listen just to what's inside of me

Lie down children
Dead or alive
Find you a ...?
Ohhh, good-bye ?

I've gotta get my mind on ?
Gotta get my mind on ?
Gotta get my mind on ?
Gotta get my mind on

Our worlds are all so dangerous
Let's go run around the hills... ?
Yeah
Let me take you by the hand and show you...the way

Don't fear...
Lie down children
Dead or alive
Find you a ...?

I've gotta get my mind on ?
Gotta get my mind on ?
Gotta get my mind on ?
Gotta get my mind on...

Gotta get my mind on track... ?
Gotta get my mind on track ?
Gotta get my mind on track ?

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
