"Boy" as written by Michael Maida, Jeremy Taggart, Duncan Coutts, Steve Mazur and Bob Rock....
It's time for forgiveness.
It's time for relief.
It's time that we've wasted.
It's time that we need.
It's time for decision.
It's time to be brave.
It's the time of your life,
Don't let it slip away yeah

Boy,
You'll be running but can't get anywhere
Don't carry the weight of the world
Boy

It's time that we borrow.
It's time that we bleed.
It's time that will cure us.
You just gotta believe, yeah
There's a warning up ahead,
The alarms gone off again,
But the sun will fill the sky,
Fill the sky

Boy,
You'll be running but can't get anywhere
Don't carry the weight of the world
And boy,
Help is coming, I'll get you out of here.
Don't carry the weight of the world,
The weight of the world, the weight of the world

Just when you think you're done,
What can ever be won?
I'll be there to pick you up, and dust you off,
And bring you home, and make you feel,
Alive.

Don't carry the weight of the world
And boy,
You'll be running but can't get anywhere
Don't carry the weight of the world
And boy,
Help is coming, I'll get you out of here.
Don't carry the weight of the world,
The weight of the world,
And the weight of the world
The weight of the world,
And the weight of the world

Tonight, is a fireball,
And tonight, oh you're not alone
And tonight, we start again,
Tonight, all the best is yet,
To come.

General CommentI think Angels Losing Sleep is the best song on the album, but okay.

I think this song's basically about the world needing to work together to help fix it. Yes, it needs fixing. Lots of fixing.

General CommentAgree with bradbomb. I think Where Are You and Love and Trust are the best songs SO FAR.Haha.

I think this song is just to not take things into your own hands. You know boys, teenagers especially.
Boys-when they have problems they tend to keep it to themselves,so maybe the song is about telling a teenage boy not to hide his troubles or keep away his dark secrets.

General CommentLike I said, it's like telling individuals that instead of trying to work AS individuals, toward the goal of saving the planet before we blow it up, to work together as a whole and unite all efforts.

General CommentI took a more simple and obvious approach to this one. I think it's basically a song written for his son. Mostly from this line,

Just when you think you’re done
The war can never be won
I’ll be there to pick you up
    And dust you off
    And bring you home
    And make you feel loved

Basically just a heads up for him like "Yea, the world sucks...be careful."

General CommentThis is a song about fatherhood. Raine recently became a father of two boys, and i think "boy" was a song written for them. "boy" is a beautiful song off of HIPT. This song serves as a form of comfort, but also as a warning. Raine warns his boys that life can be mean, brutal, and exhausting, however he also attempts to comfort them by saying that he will always be there for them no matter what happens- "Ill be there to pick you up and dust you off and make you feel loved"
I love this song, it's absolutely beautiful song about unconditional love.
