"Love and Trust" as written by Michael Maida, Jeremy Taggart, Duncan Coutts, Steve Mazur and Bob Rock....
Mother, will you think of me in your prayers?
This twenty first century is a mess
Oh you can try and fix it
But it breaks
Oh you can try and love it
But it hates
Oh it hates

[Chorus]
This is for everything we had
It's the good and it's the bad
It's the state of love and trust
And this is for you
And this is for us

And father, will you comfort me if I call?
This crazy world has lost it's mind
It's our fault
Oh you can try and straighten it
It turns, it turns, it turns
Oh you can try and smother it
But it burns
Oh it burns

[Chorus]

Oh will you break my fall
Oh when I climb too high?
I always lose my nerve
It happens every time
Oh will you bring me home
Oh when I'm barely alive
It's the state of love and trust
And this is for you
And this is for us

[Chorus]

Oh will you break my fall
Oh when I climb too high?
I always lose my nerve
It happens every time
Oh will you bring me home
Oh when I'm barely alive?
It's the state of love and trust
And this is for you
This is for us
And this is for you
And this is for us
This is for you
This is for us
This is for us.

General CommentThe beginning of the song apparently sounds like U2...

It's good to see that Raine's lyrics are as strong as ever.

General CommentPersonally, I hear a lot of U2 influence on this album, definitely moreso than on the other albums.

General CommentI agree whole heartedly. I hear it specifically between tracks 6-8.

Al Genina sounds like Coldplay trying to be like U2.

General CommentCan we really do anything about the world? We can't really do much. But we CAN depend on our family...or can we not? I think this song just questions our family. Will they help us ? Will they bring us home when we are barely alive?

Its my second time listening to the song,I'm still trying to interpret.

General Commenti think this has a double meaning. it is about family and who is there for u and it is also criticizing the world we live in and is questioning what has happened. "this 21st century is a mess..."

General CommentQuestioning the faith of our loved ones.
Questioning religion. Once again I kinda notice a hint of it.

But its more on questioning our faith on our loved ones,
Meh! Its like questioning us if we should stand on our two feet or rely on others!

Can we really depend on our loved ones? Or do we have to be like a one man army (excuse the...something,I don't know how to phrase it) and just do things independently?

I don't even know why I'm thinking like this, but we have to do something,we can't just live on not caring about others. But I wonder, will we be able to depend on the people we help?

General CommentRaine has already stated that this song is about divorce. It's about a child going through the process and wonderinfg if their family is going to be there for them.

General CommentWell assuming RileyLewis is right, I won't say anything about the meaning.

I like this part of the lyrics the most:
"Oh will you break my fall,
Oh when I climb too high?
    I always lose my nerve,
    It happens every time.
Oh will you bring me home,
    When I'm barely alive?"
