"Face Down" as written by and Ronnie Winter....
Hey girl you know you drive me crazy
One look puts the rhythm in my hand
Still I'll never understand why you hang around
I see what's going down.

Cover up with make up in the mirror
Tell yourself it's never gonna happen again
You cry alone and then he swears he loves you.

Do you feel like a man
When you push her around?
Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end
As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found.

A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect
Every action in this world will bear a consequence
If you wait around forever you will surely drown
I see what's going down.

I see the way you go and say you're right again,
Say you're right again,
Heed my lecture.

Do you feel like a man
When you push her around?
Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end
As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found.

Face down in the dirt
She said "This doesn't hurt!"
She said "I finally had enough!"

Face down in the dirt
She said "This doesn't hurt!"
She said "I finally had enough!"

One day she will tell you that she has had enough
It's coming round again

Do you feel like a man
When you push her around?
Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end
As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found.

    General CommentI love the lines
"Well, I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found"
    It could have some many meanings;
    1. Judgment Day is coming. She will go to heaven, finding her new life, but he will go to a less love place.
    2. The world he had created with his lies, the world of fear and deceit, will fall down and she will leave, finding a new life with someone who truly loves her.

    Face down in the dirt
    She says, "This doesn't hurt"
She says, "I finally had enough"
I love those too, but they speak for themselves. "I'm too strong to deal with this anymore."

General CommentPretty obvious meaning; girl is in an abusive relationship, the writer of the song doesn't understand why she is sticking around.

General CommentEven when I was 6 I could tell what this song was about. If you don't know, it's a guy who beats his girlfriend and another guy encourages her to leave him.

General Commenti personally love this song.

the music video is wicked, and it adds to the seriousness of the song.

i love how straight up and honest it is. abuse happens in relationships more than people realize.

General Commenti absolutely love this song. it's simply amazing. but i was reading through some of the comments and input on it. the song isn't really about a girl who's being beat up by her boyfriend.
the band told in an interview that two of the band members were beaten up at home, and they wrote about it. but instead of writing a song complaining about how their parents beat them up, they made it like a story of someone else so people wouldn't say crap about them and think they're complaining.

General CommentI personally think it's a boy watching his father abuse his mother.. and the first few lines -

'Hey Girl, you know you drive me crazy.
One look puts the rythmn in my hand'

    - has a double meaning. The first being the obvious - he loves the girl so much it drives him crazy, and makes him want to sing or write about her.
But, it also could mean the girl literally drives him physco.. and makes him hit her (rythmn of hitting or whatever).

    Powerful Song.. Great Band :D

General CommentI couldn't listen to this song for the longest time; Domestic abuse sickens me. Any guy who hits a woman is a fucking pussy and he deserves to get fucking beat himself.

This song is so meaningful. It has such a good meaning for woman who are in any type of abusive relationship, LEAVE before its too late.

Im happy The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus shed some light on something everyone knows is going on in homes across America.

Song MeaningI think this song is about the lead singer knowing a friend who is in an abusive relationship and is standing up for her.
    When it says
"Do you feel like a man
    When you push her around?"
It makes me think about him talking to a punk who is beating his girlfriend. Saying like do you really feel tough that you push her all around.
