I believe in miracles
Where you from
You sexy thing (sexy thing, you)
I believe in miracles
Since you came along
You sexy thing

Where did you come from, baby?
How did you know I needed you?
How did you know I needed you so badly?
How did you know I'd give my heart gladly?
Yesterday, I was one of the lonely people
Now you're lying close to me, making love to me

I believe in miracles
Where you from, you sexy thing (sexy thing, you)
I believe in miracles
Since you came along, you sexy thing

Where did you come from, angel?
How did you know I'd be the one?
Did you know you're everything I prayed for?
Did you know, every night and day for?
Every day, needing love and satisfaction
Now you're lying next to me, giving it to me

I believe in miracles
Where you from, you sexy thing (sexy thing, you)
I believe in miracles
Since you came along, you sexy thing

Oh, kiss me, you sexy thing
Touch me, baby, you sexy thing
I love the way you touch me, darling, you sexy thing
Oh, it's ecstasy, you sexy thing

Yesterday, I was one of the lonely people
Now you're lying close to me, giving it to me

I believe in miracles
Where you from, you sexy thing (sexy thing, you)
I believe in miracles
Since you came along, you sexy thing

Oh, touch me
Kiss me, darling
I love the way you hold me, baby
Oh, it's ecstasy

Oh, it's ecstasy (sexy thing, you sexy thing, you)
Kiss me, baby (sexy thing, you sexy thing, you)
I love the way you kiss me, darling (sexy thing, you sexy thing, you)
Oh, yeah (sexy thing, you sexy thing, you)
Love the way you hold me (sexy thing, you sexy thing, you)
Keep on lovin' me, darling (sexy thing, you sexy thing, you)
Keep on lovin' me, baby (sexy thing, you sexy thing, you)

Oh, such a feel-good song! I first heard it on the Full Monthy film. And as for the meaning, well it's pretty obvious- this man who was lonely not long ago, now has a sexy sex partner and cannot believe his luck.

Really love this song. :) But what would it be like if he said "booty calls" instead of "miracles"? Lol.

This sexy thing must have been real sexy, he sounds real excited. Of course, this song is cheesier than cheese - hahaha. Still, it reminds me of the Full Monty, that movie is fun.

Cheesy? Cheesy, you say? This song is the epitome of class for that time period in music. Considering the genre that was popular at the time, this was high class! And who doens't like a mug of hot chocolate...sizzle sizzle;) The funny part is that he says "I believe in miracles. Where you from" so apparently the song is not about a deep, long love affair. (Oops, perhaps I shouldn't have selected those words;) I love the song. It's a song you sing in the morning to the half asleep person lying beside you (who you love) when ya both awaken with stank breath and bad hair after a night of dancing and drinking:)

As a kid I always thought he sang 'I believe in Milkos' (thinking it was some type of sweet or something). But my friend thought it was 'I believe in milkmen', which is a far cooler lyric.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

Midnight
Ed Sheeran

He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
