"Cu Chulainn's Lament" as written by Eamon John Carr, Barry Devlin, John Martin Richard Fean, James Francis Lockhart and Charles Leslie O'connor....
You felt the chill of midnight ice
As I broke your heart in two
And I felt the kiss of emptiness
As I watched your life turn blue
Life was a game
Now I miss your name
Your golden hair
No more in your eyes is the blue
Of skies
Only shame
A lonely soul, betrayed by love
You walked into the stream
With tears of love upon my cheeks
I heard your final scream

General CommentThis is from The Tain which is the Horslips album about the old Irish legend of the same name. Basically a Bull Raid. Here CuChulainn is lamenting for Ferdia, his best friend and foster-brother, who he has just killed at a ford whilst holding back Maeve's army in single combat.
