"Cross To Bear" as written by and Aaron/mushok Lewis....
Twisting
Turning
Crashing
Burning
All this
Just to
Break me
Down

You don't know me
You don't see me
You don't own me cause I don't care
But I'm still here
Patiently waiting for you to disappear
Is this my cross to bear

Faceless
Faking
Pushing
Taking
All this
Just to
Bring me
Down

You don't know me
You don't see me
You don't own me cause I don't care
But I'm still here
Patiently waiting for you to disappear
Is this my cross to bear

You don't know me
You don't own me 'cause I'm aware
And I'm still here
Patiently waiting for you to disappear
Is this my cross to bear
I'm still here
Reluctantly waiting for you to interfere
This is my cross to bear

General CommentI think its kind of a love-hate thing. He wants to hate her but deep inside he still love her and the only way that's going away is "Impatiently waiting for you to
    Dissapear"

General CommentThis is about a cross...

    That he must bear.

General CommentI think this song is about his feeling towards a controlling person. He is reluctantly loyal even though they are just taking advantage of him. This song could be taken more generally than this, and I'm wondering about the allusion to the Bible when Jesus carries his cross that he would eventually die on.
This song has one of the better choruses on the album. Great song.

General CommentI agree with you, I think it could either just be him telling the story of Jesus, or him relating to Jesus.

General CommentThis whole Album seems to have some sort of religious correlation.... and on some of the background text in the booklet their are biblical verses i believe from the book of exodus........
This song is one of stainds most defiant songs in recent memory.... Aaron Lewis must have either honed his story writing skills and stopped writing about things going wrong in his life and started writing what could be called stories or he must have been going through some pretty tough times while writing this album.....

    Great song

General Commentbest song on Chapter V. i think he's just using the cross to bear as like a metaphor to the burdens of his life he must carry.

General CommentThis is such an awesome song. One of the best songs on the album. I love the part when he says "Is this my Cross to Bear". I think its about someone in his life thats trying to bring him down and its a burden that he has to deal with. Or in Aaron Lewises words his "Cross to Bear". God i love this song so much. Aaron Lewis is one of the best singers and song writers in my opinion.

General CommentTo Me I believe the song is about Aaron Lewis's Cross to bear being Depression. Like Jesus in this time of Burden people hazed him because of his burden and didn't understand. Like Jesus , The thing that was his Burn became something he Embraced and because of it he is revered. Aaron Lewis, his depression is something that burden him but also became something he accepted and became revered for. Though He still waits and hope for the burden to disappair because he doesn't want to be confined (Seen, Known, owned,) only because of it.
