"Reply" as written by and Aaron/mushok Lewis....
I have seen
Too many sad eyes look at me
The eyes that set me free,
All the places that I've been.

So thank you for the letters that
You thought you wrote in vain
And for the times you chose
To stand out in the rain
And wait for me
For me

Your words, your words help me to see
A little honesty, in a world that doesn't share.
And your eyes tell the story of your pain
Severity of your disdain, in a world that doesn't care.

You, you understand my pain,
From this I gather strength
In that we are the same.

So thank you for the letters that
You thought you wrote in vain
And for the times you chose
To stand out in the rain
And wait for me
For me.
The life I live would never be the same without you here

General CommentI think that Aaron wrote this, to us, his true fans, to let us know that he appreciates everything we do...The letters we write, the honesty, and the strength we have, and from that, it makes it just a touch easier for him, because he knows "we're all the same.", as he says.
No, thank you Aaron, for everything you've done for us, for all you've given us. We love you.

General CommentI recently saw Staind live and before they played 'Reply', Aaron told the crowd that it was written because many people write to him and he's not able to write back to most of them. He wrote this song to acknowledge those fans and to know that he appreciates the letters they send him and the dedication they show.

General CommentDefinitely about the fans. Talking about them waiting out in the rain for the concerts and such and waiting for him. Great song.

General CommentWow, a song competely dedicated to us! Awesome way to thank the fans, Aaron! The ominous mood of this song adds to the honest feeling in his voice. Masterpiece.

    No problem, man.

General CommentI love this song. Makes me cry almost every time I hear it.. of course most Staind songs make me cry every time I hear them :| Two small corrections to the posted lyrics, however..

    Your words
Your words help me to see
    A little honesty
In a world that doesn't share
    And your eyes
Tell the story of your pain
    SEVERITY of your disdain
In a world that doesn't care

    and in the chorus..

    So thank you for
The letters that you thought you wrote in vain
    and for
The times you chose to stand out in the rain
    And wait

General CommentI rate Aaron should have used 'sodality' or 'temerity' instead of 'severity'. They have more impact.

Awesome song though. One of his best.

General CommentI think this is a song that Aaron wrote for his wife and daughters. He's thanking them for always being there no matter how difficult he's made it for them.
