"My Heroine" as written by and Shane Told....
The drugs begin to peak
A smile of joy arrives in me
But sedation changes to panic and nausea
And breaths starts to shorten
And heartbeats feel softer

You won't try to save me!
You just want to break me!
You're leaving this way!
You taunt my heart, a sense I never knew I had
I can't forget
The times that I was lost and depressed from the awful truth
How do you do it?
You're my heroin!

You won't leave me alone!
Tears of my heart turn to stone!
You're leaving this way!

You taunt my heart, a sense I never knew I had
I can't forget
The times I was lost an depressed from the awful truth
How do you do it?
You're my heroin!

I bet you laugh, at the thought of me thinking for myself (myself)
I bet you believe, that I'm better off with you than someone else
Your face arrives again, all hope I had becomes so real
But under your covers more torture than pleasure
And just past your lips there's mores anger than laughter
Not now or forever will I ever change you
I know that to go on, I'll break you my habit!

You taunt my heart, a sense I never knew I had
I can't forget
The times when I was lost and depressed from the awful truth
How do you do it?
You're my heroin!

I will save myself!

Song MeaningThere are many interpretations for this song, but the main theme is a comparison between the heroine (the main female character in his story), and heroin (a highly destructive drug).

The man is addicted to this woman like a drug, she can make him happy and forget about all the pain he had. Eventually he realises this escape from reality is only temporary, and the fake comfort she provided him is more of a torture than pleasure, but due to the addiction of the 'drug', he can't seem to let her go, even knowing that carrying on like this will only lead him to destruction.
