"Not Insane" as written by and Sarah Bettens....
For every time you tell me that I can't be who I am
For every time you twist my arm and get me to confess
For every door you close on me
For every boy or girl you turn your back to
You will pay the price of someday knowing
that you think you tried and jet you failed
To see that you can't change me

I told myself today
It's pretty nice to find your way
No matter what you say
I am not insane

For every so called victory you lose a piece of you
The one that shows you love can be in everything you do
Love can be in everything you do

I told myself today
It's pretty nice to find your way
No matter what you say
I am not insane

Look inside you find what drives you
I can't change you

I told myself today
It's pretty nice to find your way
No matter what you say
I am not insane

I told myself today
It's pretty nice to find your way
No matter what you say
I am not insane

Whoa!

Song MeaningIt's about former President Bush's ban on gay marriage.
The album was released August 23, 2005, so Bush's re-election had just happened. As we all know former President Bush found ManxWoman to be the ideal. Sarah Bettens had come out of the closet in 2002.

Basically she's saying in her song that there's absolutly nothing wrong with lesbians and gays, which there isn't. She's saying she wishes that homophobics would understand, but she knows that she won't be able to change their minds just like they can't change her's.
