Get the move on, I’ll pack a lunch. Tell my mom that we can fit a bunch more in her car. See if she’s cool using my car. I can drive so fast I turn hands into airplane wings, oh the things that life’s made of-- they seem so made up. Everything seems better by the seaside, with the sand and sun in your eyes you’re blinded dumb. And the fire hits the water and the sky turns red and it doesn’t matter what was said when days are done. Well, let’s have some fun. I’ve been thinking about the day, but you’ve been chasing the day away. Well not together all of those thoughts will stay out on a beach in the half moon bay. The old familiar 84, it still drives like it did before, when we’d come out here in the summer-- when we’d come back through with a sunburn and I’d kiss you while Scott took the wheel because I knew just how it’d make you feel. Our wonder years ring like thunder across other years. It’s no wonder that everything seems better by the seaside on a beach in the Half Moon... Is it half empty of full moon? Are summer wave breaks still our tune? ...Bay.

    General CommentThese lyrics are wrong.
I used to love Ronnie Day - until he sold out.

Get the move on, I’ll pack a lunch.
Tell my mom that we can fit a bunch more in her car.
See if she’s cool using my car.

And I can drive so fast I turn hands into airplane wings,
Oh the things that life’s made of,
    They seem so made up.

And everything seems better by the seaside,
With the sand and sun in your eyes
    You’re blinded dumb.
    Yeah
    You’re blinded dumb.

And the fire hits the water and the sky turns red
And it doesn’t matter what was said.
    When days are done.
    Well, let’s have some fun.

I’ve been thinking about the day,
But you’ve been chasing the thoughts away.
Well now together all of the thoughts will stay
Out on a beach in the half moon bay.

The old familiar 84, it still drives like it did before,
When we’d come out here in the summer,
When we’d come back through with the sunburn.
And I’d kiss you while Scott took the wheel
Cuz I knew just how it’d make you feel.
Our wonder years ring like thunder across other years.

General CommentAnd to me, this song clearly is about Jamie. The girl that he loved, before she broke his heart.

"And I’d kiss you while Scott took the wheel
Cuz I knew just how it’d make you feel.
Our wonder years ring like thunder across other years."

    Poor Ronnie.

General CommentThis song seems to be about celebrating old memories, waxing nostalgic about the past and the summer days by the beach. That's what I think of when I hear this song; I can feel the sun on my face, hear the waves crashing next to me.
I'm from Half Moon Bay too, so I just love the song all the more. :]

General CommentHe sold out when he signed with Sony and they changed all of his music. His original album, 8 Sleepless Nights, the first version that he recorded out of his bedroom... is amazing, to this day. I just wish that he didn't sound so... fake now. Jeez. When MTV finds him... things will just get worse. XD Poor Ronnie, his music now sucks.
