"Last Of The Big Time Drinker's" as written by Kelly Jones, Stuart Cable and Richard Mark Jones....
Ten minutes flat after that day at the factory
I'm drinking like a dog in the sun
I don't need to eat or sleep a wink
At the weekend just rot my guts
And I can't wait for my next drink
The first is gonna sink
I'm the last of the big time drinkers
I take pride in my work
I'm the last of the big time drinkers
The beer don't taste the same without my name painted on my glass
I don't live to work I work to live and live at the weekend
And maybe spend a week in the sun
I come home wet the bed throw my sheets out the window
And Sunday morning comes and I can't wait for my next drink
The first one is gonna sink
I'm the last of the big time drinkers
I take pride in my work
I'm the last of the big time drinkers
The beer don't taste the same with out my name painted on my glass
And I can't wait for my next drink
The first one it's gonna sink
I'm the last of the big time drinkers
I take pride in my work
I'm the last of the big time drinkers
Just give me hops or the slops
I'm the last of the big time drinkers
I take pride in my work
I'm the last of the big time drinkers

General Commentyes, this song is really about drinking, and maybe a bit more. again, we have an insight into the south wales valleys. in my local, theres a number of people whose lives apply to this song. they have their own glasses too, and spend all weekend on the piss, before going back to the factory on monday morning. when i hear this song, i conjure up images of working mens clubs across the valleys being full of this sort of people on a friday afternoon. the problem is they are there all weekend. what kelly is trying to say is, there are thousands of people who live to get pissed on the weekend, that is the highlight of their life. that is what they live for. but they dont think they are alcoholics

General CommentI wish I knew who put that stupid apostrophe in the name. The drinkers don't own anything, and the 'phonics sure didn't stick it there.

General CommentKelly said last night that it was actually about alcohol.
In the valley he used to live in, at his local there used to be men who wrote their names on their pint glasses in nail-varnish.
    Hense the song.
And then he sang it and said "And if we fuck it up...don't worry about it"
    Legend.

Awesome song. I have to listen to it more than once when I start.

I don't think the lyrics really go into themselves too much, it's just a fun song
