So how was every headache conceived? How has your heart been broken? Unconsciously we leave and then we leave our eyes open.

You've got love. You've got luck.

So it's out of the city and so into indy, the steam from machines that keeps the scene clean. Who are you to do this to me?

Sometimes I feel like I'm on fire and sometimes, well, you're water. I'd say it better if I had time, but that's how much I want her.

I've got love. I've got luck.

I haven't felt this alive or alone since I've been home.

We take in the lake and then say, the state. Our phones are all glowing. They know where we're going. Who are you to do this to me? We stopped when the snow made it so hard to see. We sank in the seats and you laid into me. Who are you to do this to me?

I haven't felt this alive or alone since you've been home.

General CommentJeez. To me, this really shows you the difference and growth in between Braid and Hey Mercedes. But I love both deeply.

General Commenti'd have to say my favorite line is the double use of the word "well":

Sometimes I feel like I'm on fire and sometimes, well, you're water.

General CommentWell, it's certainly a love song. (And a rockin' one at that). I like the "well" double-use, and there's another one that the lyrics unfortunately don't reflect:

"We stopped when the snow made it so hard to see,
We sank in the seats and you LIED into me."

In this particular HM song, Bob tends to pause after he makes a pun, and this one is the one that brings together the loud, fast, raucous nature of the song with the tender lyrical content. It is essential.

General CommentThis is also probably the ONLY song in the world that mentions cell phones but doesn't irritate me in doing so.
