"Spiral Staircase" as written by Angelo T. Petraglia, Anthony Caleb Followill and Ivan Nathan Followill....
Spiral staircase going down, paint your body red and brown
On our knees we'll feast on a sex show
Spiral staircase spiral staircase

Greasy haircuts a German Chinese girl
Gonna keep ya'll busy tugging at my curl
Get your ass together
You better walk, walk, walk by walking we cannot run

They all came to the party and there's four to every stall
Get's fust-er-ating just pissin' on this wall
Seems like there's another story bangin'
Around every step you fake

Spiral staircase going down, paint your body red and brown
On our knees we'll feast on a sex show
Spiral staircase spiral staircase

They all came to the party and there's four to every stall
Get's fust-er-ating just pissing on this wall
Seems like there's another story bangin'
Around every step you fake

Spiral stair case going down paint your body red and brown
On our knees we'll feast on a sex show
Spiral staircase spiral staircase

Spiral stair case going down paint your body red and brown
On our knees we'll feast on a sex show
Spiral staircase spiral staircase

General CommentThis song is about the house in Topanga Canyon that was the haunt of rock stars such as Love, Jim Morrison, and more importantly the "cult" leader Charles Manson. Manson and the Family nicknamed the house Spiral Staircase due to the, er, Spiral Staircase. Numerous "sex parties" and other LSD induced madness went on there. There have been various conspiracy theories that the Spiral Staircase (also known as The Snake Pit after its owner) was in fact an FBI or CIA owned house that was a cover to gain information into the "counter culture" of 60's American Rock.

    Great Song.

General Commentnexusicon, may I just say...spectacular input. now it all makes sense. The one thing that still bugs me about this, however, is the fact that they all say something slurred and inaudible near the end of the song. I can't help but feel like it's something cryptic and/or insightful and we're all just missing out on it!

General CommentOne comment? Come on. I think that this is one of Kings of Leon's best songs (although I like them all). Although I don't really understand the lyrics, the sheer rawness of it really gets your juices pumping, man. Great song.

General CommentWell, if you think that this whole thing is about the actual "Spiral Staircase" place then, you should realize that what Charles Manson used to do is mutter words in a sybolic gesture, and usually turn them into words that are kinda like Got to die or something like that... and then, you also have to consider, most of Kings of Leons songs, have nothing to do with other people, the first CD was based on things they wanted to do when the get popular, and then the second was things they did, and the third was more so on their life growing up...
