"My Heart" as written by and Hayley Nichole/farro Williams....
I am finding out that maybe I was wrong
That I've fallen down and I can't do this alone
Stay with me
This is what I need please

Will you sing us a song
And we'll sing it back to you
We could sing our own
But what would it be without you

I am nothing now
And its been so long
Since I've heard a sound
The sound of my only hope
This time I will be listening

Will you sing us a song
And we'll sing it back to you
We could sing our own
But what would it be without you

This heart, it beats
Beats for only you

My heart is yours

General CommentI prefer to think of it as a simple love song, no Godliness to it.

    I love it, though.

    General CommentI love this song!
I like it when the guy is screaming his voice out, almost in the ending.

General CommentI still take it as a relationship love song, but I can definitely see where God can come into play.

Either way, I absolutely love it. Quite possibly my favorite on the CD. So simple but it hits something in me..

General Commentthere's not much to really say about this song.
however, i'm not sure if i agree with the whole "God" thing. i'm guessing it's about God and some guy. she could be talking about both at the same time.

i talked to paramore at cornerstone and i was confused because i did not know of their faith. they said they were all strong in their faith, but hayley had said that none of their songs are really about faith at all.

maybe she meant the songs she had written around that time, or about all of the songs.
    who knows.

General CommentI. Love. This. Song. So. Effin'. Much.

And I deffinitely think it's about God. But they're not a christian band- besides you can't really listen to anything Wikipedia says- as much as I love that site.

General CommentPeople can definetly have their own interpretation to this song and are entitled to how they feel it affects them.

To me this a worship song due to the sincerity of the emotion. It says in the bible that we belong to God and that he created us and we bear his fingerprints. How appropriate then with Paramore being Christians, to express their gratitude by saying "My heart beats for only you". Paramore isn't preachy with their music, they just are honest and sincere.

Haley also talks about her own inability to survive without help from God, "That i've fallen down and can't do this on my own" I think this song is very humbling and just allows people to reach out to what gives them life, i.e. the beating of their hearts.

General CommentShe made the mistake of falling for someone she probably couldn't have. Which I don't understand, she is gorgeous and outgoing; who couldn't she have lol. But she just wants "whoever" to stay with her and help her and be with her.

General Commentthis is my ####1 fave paramore song. it actually means a lot to me. i personally think this song is about God or someone guiding them-- just look at the first lyrics.

I am finding out that maybe I was wrong
    That I've fallen down
And I can't do this alone (like she's praying for help)
Stay with me (she needs God's guidence)
This is what I need, please (she needs it BADLY xD)

i love that paramore gives subtle yet meaningful hints to something greater then just a crush.... they're amazing. a lot of people say the screaming turns them off, but that to me is the best part of the whole song and a VERY brave move to put on their first CD. but how awesome is it that it was Josh? VERY :D

Song MeaningI think it has to do with their faith, honestly, mainly because of how religious they are.

    It could fall into place.

"I am finding out that maybe I was wrong
That I've fallen down, and I can't do this alone" could mean that they though that they could do it their way, meaning sin, and they still need God to ride down this road with them.

    "Stay with me
This is what I need, please" They want God to stay with them, and never turn away because they need Him in their lives.

"Sing us a song and we'll sing it back to you
We could sing our own, but what would it be without you?"
That probably means they could do this alone, but what would they be without Him? They'd be lost, almost.

"I am nothing now and it's been so long
Since I've heard a sound, the sound of my only hope"
They're nothing, and it's been so long since God has answered one of their prayers.

    "This time
    I will be listening"
When He asks them, or tells them, to do something, they'll answer His call and be faithful.

    -Chorus-

"This heart, it beats, beats for only you."
Meaning they belong to God and keep Him in their hearts, their hearts are His.
