"Emergency" as written by and Hayley Nichole/farro Williams....
I think we have an emergency
I think we have an emergency
If you thought I'd leave you, then you were wrong
Cause I won't stop holding on

So, are you listening?
So, are you watching me?
If you thought I'd breathe, then you were wrong
Because I won't stop holding on

This is an emergency, so, are you listening?
And I can't pretend that I don't see this
It's really not your fault
And no one cares to talk about it, to talk about it

Cause I've seen love die way too many times
When it deserved to be alive (It deserved to be alive)
I've seen you cry way too many times
When you deserved to be alive, alive

So, you give up every chance you get
Just to feel new again
I think we have an emergency
I think we have an emergency

And you do your best to show me love
But you don't know what love is
So, are you listening?
So, are you watching me?

Well I can't pretend that I don't see this
It's really not your fault
And no one cares to talk about it
To talk about it

Cause I've seen love die way too many times
When it deserved to be alive (It deserved to be alive)
And I've seen you cry way too many times
When you deserved to be alive, alive

The scars, they will not fade away

No one cares to talk about it
To talk about it

Cause I've seen love die way too many times
When it deserved to be alive (It deserved to be alive)
And I've seen you cry way too many times
When you deserved to be alive, alive
Alive

Song MeaningI know what this songs aboutttttt! :)
    I found this random website on Google and there was an interview with Hayley that was about this song. It was about her seeing love literally die in front of her, this is what she said;

"This song is about love, and not love in a good way. People have started to abuse love. I mean, it's becoming more and more common and you can see it with the divorce rates, and you can tell it the way people are treated. I see it all around and want to change it."
Hayley is part of a divorced family, and this song actually talks about her parents' divorce, she also said; "I remember actually walking out the door with my mom that night and standing in between my parents and screaming "Shut Up! Shut up! Shut up!" she recalls, adding that songs like "Emergency" from the
band's first album were inspired by her parents' disintegrating relationship."

So I hope this helped! This is my favourite Paramore everrrrrr :3

General CommentI was at Cornerstone Festival in Illinois, up late getting a funnel cake, and as I'm walking back to my tent, i heard this beautiful sound from across the river. I followed the sound to the stage where Paramore was playing. Not only was I blown away by their performance, but I think i fell in love with Hayley, the lead singer. She's an amazing vocalist and her energy in a live show is just lovely. Paramore's a pretty great band, and this is probably my favorite song of them that I've heard. I've preordered their CD already, and I'm highly anticipating its arrival late in July. I have high expectations for this band and you should too. Check them out, you won't be wasting your time.

    Those are the correct lyrics.
I think it's about someone having a broken heart, and it being an emergency to the new love in his/her life..
    Paramore's amazing.

General CommentI read the song, and it's probably off... but what I got was that the person grew up around a parent, probably mother, who had a lot of trouble with love. Possibly split parents, or most likley they just weren't in love. She grew up seeing this, but never getting to express anything, or ask anything about it.

"Cause I've seen love die way too many times, when it deserved to be alive. I've seen you cry, way too many times when you deserved to be alive."

When I read that line I don't think of a guy I feel bad for, or something, I think of my mom. Because that happened to my mom and I. Is happening. And she can't see it, but it has such an effect on me.. I know it does. I've just started to see it.

Also, "The Tide," by The Spill Canvas reminds me of my mom. She hasn't neglected me quite like that song, but she has a lot like this song. It's not really she 'negelected' me as bad as the stroy of the mother in "The Tide," or even this one, becuase we talk about it.. but I know it doesn't make it any better.

"And you do your best to show me love, but you don't know what love is,"

The parent tries to raise the kid normally, show them love, but the kid knows all along what life (for her, or the mother, or whoever) is reall like.

My Opinioni heard about paramore on rock band 2 with the song, "that's what you get", and know i am listening to them consteantly, i am utterly in love with hayley williams, she has an amazing set of PIPES ON HER!!!!!!!!! she has the most beauitful voice in the world, and she is a beautiful person! she was created for us by the gods! and i thank them.

Oh yeah, i think that this song is about relationships. maybe with god, family members, anyone that has felt hurt from someone who you love!

This song along with many others really pretain to my life rightn now, paramore is an awesome band and gives me hope, for good to come from my life.

My Interpretation*PLEASE READ, I KNOW ITS LONG, BUT I REALLY BELIEVE I'M RIGHT*
I always really liked this song, and I even liked it more, when I noticed that it describes my love situation, and here it is: I liked this boy, and he seemed to like me too, it was visible, and all my firends thought he did. When I became sure, because his best friend told one of my friends, and it had been long time since I"ve been that way, I decided to tell him how I feel, when I did, it all went wrong and we barely talked after that. So I decided to forget, and I kinda hated him after that, bcz I lost so much on him. But later, many other things made me believe that he really did love me, and he started to talk more, but I kept hating him, and became really harsh to him, allthough he was dying for me, like I was previously dying for him. And right now, I lost him, I feel my chances really small after how I was treating him when he decided I was good! That;s the "'Cause I've seen love die, way too many times when it deserved to be alive" part of my story, I loved him in the bad time, and hated him when I should've loved him. But right now, I'm really trying to get him back, but it's not really working.
Then, HE started to treat me bad, like if he was trying to give it back to me (but iy's a little betetr right now) and later he tries to show me he loves me, just TRIES. And that's the "And you do your best to show me love, but you dunno what love is" part. I think that's what Hayley meant, that we love people in the bad time, when they don't want us, and we forget about them when they want us. That's what I think.

My InterpretationEven though the right meaning has already been said, i believe that it could have something to do with depression, to me this song spoke about it specially
    "So are you listening?
    So are you watching me?
If you thought I'd leave then you were wrong
Because I won't stop holding on"

when i was talked to because i had suicidal thoughts, everybody seemed to say stuff like this, maybe this song is trying to say to a close friend "I'm here and well get through this together"
