Wait every hour of every day
Played light, played hard
Had to go my way
I feel like death wearing a disguise
Can't catch my breath
From all this noise

I want
I'm fucking bored
Give me a new found sensation
Take it
Take all the pills
I'll try anything to get me off
Come on
Kicked in the ass
Why do you tell me I can't?
Fake it
I can't go on
Give me anything to set it off

I bite your tongue
Watch with keen eyes
I found the gun
Nervous excitement
Go on and toush it
You just might like
I sip your poison one last time

My confidence is all that's left
Under this veil I count the minutes
I'm growing weaker
Search for a glimmer
Pulsating sounds come blaring out
You may be right
My mind is gone
I'll try anything to set this off

Set it off
Anything to set it off

Toolslip25 I don’t see how you can say that they sound like Korn ripoffs. In my opinion, I don't think these two bands really compare. For example, they are two different genres of metal. Korn's sound is always changing. I think that Static-X has had a pretty solid sound ever since they first came out. Even the way their songs are composed lyrically are different. You're entitled to your opinion, I just think you should rethink what you posted and elaborate a little more what you meant.

Heh, when I was just listening to it I couldn't help but think it sounded like a song about an old guy trying to have sex. I almost shat myself.

Yeah, I figured this song is either about drug addiction or Viagra.

It does kinda sound like Korn... but gone industrial as opposed to metal. as for this song in particular, I think its about every day life, and how bored he is of the routine, and tries new shit just for thrills and is doing absolutely anything.

at least thats what I thought of this song first time I heard it, and thats how I felt at the time.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
