My dirthouse
Watch it happen from the box
Mind wanders
Dirty dirty word
My dirthouse
This is where it all comes down
Look into my eye
You feel my skin, it's dirt

Drive me wild
Remember when you blew my mind?
Cut through me
Living in the dirt
These dogs are curled up in a little ball
These dogs are freezing their asses off

Go, go, go
Pick up the pieces
I want to call this my home
Go, go, go
Pick up the pieces
I've got some pain of my own

Open the box
See what's inside
You make the call
Sick of it all again

Tear me down
Pushing on my every nerve
Scares me
I hope I don't get burnt
Look closer
Look into my dirty mind
Feeling sick inside
My blood has turned to fucking dirt

Yeah, I kinda agree to you, Renegade. And this song, along with the rest of the album makes me think of Wayne as he is expressing how sick he is of certain things.

I'd say in this song it's not unlike as in "I Want To Fucking Break It", and he hates the effects people who want to see him fail have on him.

In the song "Just In Case", he says somebody makes him feel like a dog. So basically the "dogs" in this song are him, and he's curled up in a little ball and can't do anything about it- and his existance (skin and mind) are turning into "fucking dirt".

    That's my interpretation of this song. I sure hope Wayne isn't as depressed of a guy as some of his songs seem to imply though. o.O;

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
