"Retreat" as written by Matthew Swinnerton, Alan Donohoe, Lasse Petersen and James Horn-smith....
I'm walking unknown territory
Where the sun's not shining
There's nothing golden about Golden Lane
The smoke is heavy in my lungs and
The adverts are working
I just can't sell for who

[Chorus]
I don't want to miss out on anything
At the same time I feel the need to retreat
Everything is temporary these days
Might as well go out for a third night in a row

Should I give my money to a good cause
Or save for a holiday
In a couple of months I could be in paradise
But the girl at the bar is well nice
And she's looking over
It's only right that I get the next round in

[Chorus]

Walk home, come down, retreat to sleep!
Wake up, go out again, repeat!
Walk home, come down, retreat to sleep!
Hook up, again this time, next week!
Walk home, come down, retreat to sleep!
Wake up, go out again, repeat!
Walk home, come down, retreat to sleep!
Hook up, again this time, next week!

General CommentYep this song is a definite reference to trying damm hard to stay in the social loop! all without killing yourself! i can relate to this song so much. if you start staying at home saving for adult stuff like 'houses' and 'cars' your place in a social group becomes jeopardised

General Commentthis song is just sheer class. it's like a whirlwind of a song, espically at the end.

    General CommentThis is great song.

It's about a guy who's wondering if maybe he should slow down and do something sensible like save up his money but he doesn't want to miss out on all the stuff he could be doing right now so he spends all his time and money going out and having fun instead :D

General CommentThis song was Matthew's (guitar) idea, its about the balance between staying solvent and staying in the social loop.

General Commenti think its about how average everyday life is, no variation, and that he wants that to stop, wants to back away, but doesnt want to miss anything, cos maybe something'll happen, but its just so boring everyday. when you look at it that way, the first part makes no sense...
