Purple sunset, orange moon
I'm alone again without you
I knew someone had to lose

Kiss goodbye
Go back to your separate life
That you have with her
Ashes blow in the windy sky
Take my heart as you go

Baby it burns, baby it burns, baby it burns
To be your fire on the side
Taste my tears
See how they burn
Baby it burns
To be your fire on the side

Purple sunset, orange moon
How can the music play
When the only band is made of gold
Wrapped around your hand
That I used to hold
Against my chest every night
But I still can hope
You will see I'm your home

Baby it burns, baby it burns, baby it burns
To be your fire on the side
Taste my tears
See how they burn
Baby it burns
To be your fire on the side

I knew someone had to lose
Kiss goodbye
Go back to your separate life
That you have with her
Take my heart as you go

Baby it burns, baby it burns, baby it burns
To be your fire on the side
Taste my tears
See how they burn
Baby it burns
To be your fire on the side

General Commenti wonder why i like this song- the theme is pretty old, it's about jealousy- well not exactly- it's about you loving someone who loves you less than that- sometimes you just wished they'd reject you altogether. Leave it up to tori to transform this trite theme into something so emotional that even for those of us who haven't experienced this situation like me feel the burning.

General CommentI just get the feeling this song is about an affair. Maybe Tori had an affair and was someones fire on the side. Affairs are passionate and steamy.

General CommentIt's definitely about her being the other woman with a married man. "When the only band is made of gold
wrapped around your hand" is a reference to his wedding ring.
