i've been looking through these eyes of black and white for far to long
and now these deepened colors seem so shocking

bless the cold, cold moon, that moves the seas, that makes the waves,
that made this scene for me to see and be moved

will my life be long enough to see the things i want to see?
i believe this world is just too big for me

every cloud that passes by is another cloud i'll never see
maybe i just tried to hard to understand all of these things

bless the hands of painters who have captured melon skies
and starry nights for us to see and feel for all of time

this life is just a blink of an eye,
a glimpse into the world we were never meant to see
so don't hang on to anything at all

and all the things we have and all the people we have known
will fade away so quickly into the deep
and memories of love will be the only warmth we have in the end

General Commentif the person got the title right, debussy was a piano composer back in the day ( i've been looking through these eyes of black and white for far to long
and now these deepened colors seem so shocking)...maybe it's just a coincidence but it seems like it fits...it mite be about his life or something...

General CommentI've always wondered about the mystery of the title...

Ontological shock. Time is short. Just live, love. And take the memories with you to the end. They were the only things that were truly real in life.

Funny how the theme of the song is parallel to the length of the track. Just as soon as it begins, it ends. Just a thought.

General CommentI think this is a really depressing song. Not that I dont like it! Its great!
But I looked into the title..Debussey is this french composer who wrote romantic musics.
Although Its spelled differently, It may be relevent.
OOHHH, and you know how they gotthe name DAPHNE LOVES DERBY??
they needed a different name for there band and the had to get a new one right away before this show, and Kenny yelled out DAPHNE LOVES DERBY! and it stuck.
well, thats what i read anyways!

General CommentI really like this song. I think it talks about how things don't last forever and that you should cherish them while you still can.

General Commenti think this song is about seeing greater things in life than what we as everyday people see. It really depends on our lifestyle, but i think that most of us never really appriciate what we have. It's about realizing what is truelly important in life, and what we should focus our attention on. I think the song is beautiful, and i don't consider it depressing at all. :)
