No scripts for normal people,
We haven't had a minute to think about our lines
And everybody's ideals drop down,
Too bad, and stupid,
Hey miss Hollywood Actress,
Collagen for breakfast? Yeah!

Covered in glitter, but I'm not shining
Like you do, maybe I could
Maybe I could soon,
American melodrama episode
Right now... with you!

Don't dance unless they pay,
So you can afford to call in sick...
...to think of me,
At least you'll have nice thoughts this afternoon,
You stole my lips, and tangled them without intent
Kiss and tell the radio...
Lose your dress darling
You wont need it here
Lose...

Covered in glitter, but I'm not shining
Like you do, maybe I could
Maybe I could soon,
American melodrama episode
Right now... with you!

Covered in glitter, but I'm not shining
Like you do, maybe I could
Maybe I could...
American melodrama episode
Right now!

So what to do?
(I really thought I could) forget you, forget you,
It's all down to you

Lose, lose you [x2]

General CommentI agree with thedeparturefreak, this song is about Hollywood being over-rated. I think this song is told in the perspective of a support-actor who thought that fame was gonna be great, then it turns out that it isn't: "Covered in glitter, but I'm not shining / Like you do, maybe I could". I think also it's about him falling in love with the lead actress, and she spreads a load of rumours about him to the media, which is why he says "You stole my lips, and tangled them without intent / Kiss and tell the radio..."
