"Abduction" as written by and Bruce (gb 2)/ramirez Dickinson....
I wake in sweat
you've come to steal my life away
some strange electric glow
of artificial day
the power breakers closed
the grid of darkness falls
shining gleaming black as night
burning all the light

whattya want from me
i sense your mastery
there's something you won't ever find
so have your way with me
this prisoner is never free
rip me up leave me behind

are you the truth to sit in judgement on my sins
evil (laser?) gadgets come to penetrate my skin
the hanging judge is (open?)
and I'm damned before his eyes
another (gender?) system failed
and many more have tried

chorus

solo

"masterplan moment"

and so the story goes
i dreamt this long ago
highways hidden in the sand
reveal the troops i know
they took my worthless heart
and spat it through their eyes
Abduction means the end for me
a million years of misery

chorus
so have your way with me
this soldier's lost victory
rip me up...

General CommentI consider myself a Dickinson fan, but the album is disappointing.

This song in particular is the avatar to my feeling of the whole album. From the beginning, the album appears to be a more personal album than past Dickinson albums. From his love of flying, history and, of course in the case of abduction, his love of science-fiction first explored in his Skunkworks days. The instrumentation was exceptional, however, due to the personal nature of Bruce Dickinson, the album at a whole was pretty decadent. Not to mention, upon cursory glance, the album art looks very cartoonish....even if it was formally a painting.

I guess i've just been listening to 'The Chemical Wedding' and 'Scream for me Brazil' too long.

General CommentPeople were disappointed by Tyranny of Souls? It's once again a filler-free album. Abduction's one of my favourites off the record (alongside Navigate the Seas of the Sun, Kill Devil Hill and the title track).

And the video's pretty hilarious. :D

General CommentThis song is so gay. 'What do you want from me, I sense your mastery' Now that's something to laugh at!
