Jealousy's an ugly word, but you don't seem to care
Converse behind my back, but now I'm here
Need no one to comply with me though everyone that I defeat
Don"t need you, fuck camaraderie, this rage will never go away

Hatred fuels my blood
I'll burn ya down (You can't help me)
One king to watch the horsemen fall
I'll fight 'til the end (I won't help you)
I can't trust anyone (See it in my eyes)
Now I can understand
It's sorrow that feeds your lies
Whoa, yeah!

You're on my back when the water gets too deep for you to breathe
A crutch for you that won't always be there
Hide in the dark another day
The fear in you is here to stay
So keep the fuck away from me and learn to trust the words I say

Hatred fuels my blood
I'll burn ya down (You can't help me)
One king to watch the horsemen fall
I'll fight 'til the end (I won't help you)
I can't trust anyone (Witness and see it in my eyes)

Now I can understand
Put faith in you for the last time
It's sorrow that feeds your lies
Huh! Yeah, yeah!

Running from me before I tear you down (Be afraid)
You chose the wrong side (It feels so right)
I won't help you, let you run away (Despise what you say)
Run towards the light exposing your soul (We won't be there by your side)
Salvation's dying (Somebody's crying)
We're all gone in the end
Sweet child we'll miss you
Whoa, so far away, far away

I can't trust anyone (Witness and see it in my eyes)
Now I can understand (Put faith in you for the last time)
It's sorrow that feeds your lies

Falling away
Can't buy back time
Burn it down anyways

I listened to this album and i really love it because all the songs are unique. There's a lot of sick guitar solos also. I was listening and was like wtf cause shawdows has no screaming but then i heard about his vocal box, damn. he can still really show off his vocals on this album though, he almost sounds a little bit like lead singer from metallica. so this album is sweet every song is like a single and that makes a good album. any1 else agree?

    My Interpretation

I believe this song is about someone that has so much anger and no-one understand them. Losing trust in the people they once Loved and liked throughout time as it went by because no-one can quite understand as to why they're mad. However, when the lyrics 'You chose the wrong side' are sung leads me to believe that no-one is on this person's side of whatever's going on. And 'One king to watch the horsemen fall' further pushes me to think that the person being this angered is against one set person that is bringing down others and they're taking the 'One king's' side

This is an awesome song...one of the bands best songs from all 3 cd's....but did i miss something? why is there no screaming parts like the last one? I heard that M. Shadows blew out his vocal box and needed surgey to fix it...Someone please tell me if this is true cause i can't seem to find the answer on their website or on any search engine...thanks

He burst a blood vessel, and had to have vocal chord surgery. The whole album is scream-less. I think its their best work to date.

thanks dunndidit for the info...I love this cd cause it shows how a band like A7X can adapt to overcome the adversity they faced when Shadows went through that whole ordeal....I thought their last cd had an original sound...this one is def. unique...i think that Waking the Fallen and City of Evil are about equal in quality but this latest one wins by what i said earlier...the way the band overcame Shadows vocal injury makes this one of the best if not the best cd i have ever heard

Ok, ya. its true that he burst something in his throat. He can still sing, but if he screams like he ahs on the other albums he will need to go in for surgery. This surgery will cost him his singng career, wont make it any better, just alow him to talk. So thats the anser to your question on why he doesnt scream. Personally, I like this album the best, but im not a huge fan on screaming so thats my opinion.

actually... he didnt mess his throat up. go to thegauntlet.com to learn about why they dont have screaming. they have the interview for it. actually they have alot of role model bands. like METALLICA and iron maiden and stuff like that. they looked back at the bands that kik ass and realized that they didnt scream and made it somewhere. they just wanted to show how much their role model bands mean to them and they wanted to show the fans that they can do what the older bands do and come up to the new age and still make it and sell albums. that is why there is no screaming. dunndidit, ur a faggot. i know who u are. u go to school with me. lol. u tried to tell me that and i proved u wrong. so yeah.....

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
