At 4 A.M. she came out of that blue
I haven't seen such red since I've seen you
I'm upset, but I'm fine
I'm just surprised you're so unemotional
She said, in reply,
"and I did some drinking and it's got me thinking of you"

I've changed some words I'd like to give to you
They flew behind the plane for all to view
And it read in bold type -
"I won't be surprised if you're unemotional"
You're burnt read, I'm pale white
Inspired, depressed, and still unimpressed

Well I could read you're lips, but they don't make sense
They both scream kiss when your eyes don't yet
They don't yet, they don't yet

I've been thinking a lot about you (and I said, "the phone hasn't rang 'til today")
Is it true, do you hate me? (and the nights and the weekends fray)
'Cause she said, "I've been thinking a lot about you (but I know that you're time isn't cheap)
Is it true, do you hate me?" (on the nights and the weekends)

Well I could read you're lips, but they don't make sense
They both scream kiss when your eyes don't yet
Well I could read you're lips, but they don't make sense
They both scream kiss when your eyes don't yet
They don't yet, they don't yet

I've been thinking a lot about you (I said, "the phone hasn't rang 'til today")
Is it true, do you hate me? (and the nights and the weekends fray)
'Cause she said, "I've been thinking a lot about you (but I know that you're time isn't cheap)
Is it true, do you hate me?" (on the nights and the weekends)

At 5 A.M. I came out of that blue
And I raised my voice as high as I could to you
You said, "please Ken, let's not fight"
I'm just surprised I've stayed on the phone this long
And I said, in reply, "it's easy to lie when you're so unemotional"
When so unemotional, oh

'Cause I've been thinking a lot about you (and I said, "the phone hasn't rang 'til today")
Is it true, do you hate me? (and the nights and the weekends fray)
'Cause she said, "I've been thinking a lot about you (but I know that you're time isn't cheap)
Is it true, do you hate me?" (on the nights and the weekends)
Oh yeah, 'cause she said, "I've been thinking a lot about you (and I said, "the phone hasn't rang 'til today")
Is it true, do you hate me?" (and the nights and the weekends fray)
Oh yeah, 'cause she said, "I've been thinking a lot about you (but I know that you're time isn't cheap)
Is it true, do you hate me?" (on the nights and the weekends)
(the nights and the weekends)

General CommentThis song is amazing. I can't believe it didn't just come on the regular cd and instead had to come as a bonus track on the japanese version. This song was originally called "Is It True, Do You Hate Me?" on the Geffen Demos and let me down when it wasn't on the new CD...But to have the remade version is good enough I guess as it was my favorite Geffen Demo.

General CommentI agree with you fedorov1fan. This song kicks ass and I was mad when it wasn't on BOATS. This song is awesome. I'm not too sure on the meaning. It's the girl saying "is it true do you hate me?" right? Anyway it seems like Ken is pretty much fed up with this chick. She says she's been thinking about him and he says well you never called until today. Then the whole 5 AM verse. But not entirely sure about it.

General CommentThe sond def. should have made the original cut for BOATS because it is amazing.

I think this song is about a girl Ken liked / cared about at one point, but she never gave a **** about him. Now she's trying to ask why, but he really sick of her and all the bs she says. ("it's easy to lie when you're so unemotional")

General CommentI can't beleive this song has so little comments. This is proably my favourite song, minus The B-List, by tsl. It's truely amazing.
I think it's about a relationship that's gone wrong, where Ken liked the girl more than she liked him, so it ended, but suddenly she;s coming back to him, yet he's having none of it.

I absolubtely love the 'please ken, let's not firght!' bit! speaking of that, it's not

You said, "please Ken, let's not fight"

    it's
'so please ken, let's not fight!'

General Commentoh my, so many typo's! sorry.
I also agree with the whole 'not making boats' thing.
Apparenlty it features on the Japanese edition?
