"Quiet" as written by and Ian Robins/gallagher Dury....
I'll be the bumble bee behind you baby.
I'll tear up everything inside you, well yeah.
And it stings, and it stings
Sun shines through your openings.
I'll tear up everything inside you.

Hold up, don't say what I think you're gonna say.
Take your time cause I can wait.
It's all on you and I'm not sane.

And if you see my girl could you bring her to me?
She don't like a life with a rock n' roll singer, well yeah.
But we'll spend the rest of our lives in happiness.
I'll wrap this ring around her finger.

Hold up, don't say what I think you're gonna say.
Take your time cause I can wait.
It's all on you and I'm not sane.
You won't see what you mean to me
And you don't feel that you're everything.
For now I'll live with you
Quiet, quiet.

You don't see what you mean to me.
You don't feel like you're everything.
You can take all the time you need.
I hold my breath but I have to breathe.

Hold up, don't say
Hold up, don't say
Hold up, don't say what I think you're gonna say.
Take your time cause I can wait.
It's all on you and I'm not sane.
You won't see what you mean to me
And you don't feel that you're everything.
For now I live with you
Quiet.
Quiet.

General CommentI can't believe nobody has commented on this yet. This is probably my favourite AAF song.

Pretty sure it's a guy proposing to his girl. He's afraid she'll say no, so he tells her to hold up and be quiet. For now he'll just live with her.

General Commentdeathwaffle (nice name by the way :) ) got it. i think it's simply about a guy proposing to a girl and he is worried that she will say no. pretty easy to figure out.

General CommentNo, I'm not so sure about that.

I believe it's about Tommy Lee (or a at least a guy like that). I think it's about proposing, but I'm think the girl actually don't wants to. But the singer forces her and tells her to shut up (quiet!). Something like that.

My InterpretationI think it's about something like this:
He proposes to his girlfriend, but he is afraid she'll say no.
He tells her to be quiet and to take her time to decide if she wants to or not.

General CommentI think this song is about a guy (possibly the singer, but at least some kind of musician who's on tour) who's not able to be around as much as he or his girlfriend would like. He really loves her passionately, but he can't give up the music to be with her. He's afraid she'll break up with him because he can't be there when he needs her, so maybe she even goes out and does things she shouldn't to feel comforted or just to ignore the situation (I get this from the 'And if you see my girl could you bring her to me?
She don't like a life with a rock n' roll singer, well yeah.'). He really wants to make her happy, and he really wants to be with her, so he hopes that maybe if they're married, if he can show that he's committed to her, then they can stay together and be happy. The possibility that he's losing her is practically driving him insane, he just can't imagine being broken up with her because he loves her that much, and the girl can't see that, because she thinks if he really loved her that he'd stay around more, but he can't because of his music. He wants to give her all the time she needs to make up her mind (hoping she'll accept his marriage proposal) but it's taking her so long that he's just losing it and it looks a lot more bleak.
I think the 'Quiet' part comes from like a silence that's fallen between the two, they don't talk as much as the guy would like to, and that makes him think he's losing her. So whenever the guy is around, he's trying to show her how much she's loved, but she's quiet and losing faith in the relationship. Also, I think that the guy may be quiet as well, because he might be misinterpreting things, thinking if he just gives her space she can make the right choice. Or neither of them want to acknowledge it.
