If it looks broken
That's just the picture
That's how you know
If it's in focus
Then it's no fun for guys like me
These robots have it wired around here
They'll make slaves of us soon
Canvas the neighborhood
I mean it, watch
Step away
Don't look that close
They could be anywhere
Hid up in the ballast
Down in the basement
Camped out in the bunker
If it should come back
We'll set the tracers
Break it in easy
These robots have it wired around here
These robots have it wired around here
(these robots have it wired around here)
Circuits on Babylon
Cracked up on some lawn
Chasing these scenes
Given a fever
Restless manner
Is it worth your soul?
They might leave tomorrow
They might leave tomorrow
They might leave tomorrow
They might leave tomorrow
That's just the picture
That's how you know
If it's in focus
Then it's no fun for guys like me
These robots have it wired around here
They'll make slaves of us soon
Canvas the neighborhood
I mean it, watch

They might leave tomorrow
They might leave tomorrow
They might leave tomorrow
They might leave tomorrow

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
It's about modern apathy.
What is with the song title Elizabeth??
@sokorny The song has layered vocals. The title may just be a not to Elizabeth Frazer (Cocteau Twins), of whom Moreno is a big fan. His entire signature singing manner is carbon copy of early Frazer.
This is about how much propeganda there is in the USA and how the story is always twisted to fit the need. The paranoia level is so insane that they have everyone eyeing their neigbours as the enemy. The last few words are pretty much saying that there is hope, but only if you want it.
its about brainwashing and controlling and people just becoming zombies and how there's no individuality. Is disorder worth your soul? I think this is a narative, I think someone is telling, trying to convince someone else [maybe elizabeth] that they'll brainwash her and she needs to get away. Just a thought.
My fucking favorite.
I believe this song is about someone in the military training someone else on the job. I'm thinking they're explosives experts and use robots to set up the wiring from far. What also seems to solidify this is the part where someone is being warned about getting too close because someone could be hiding in a few places, one being a bunker. The title is misleading as well as the instrumentals, but the lyrics seem to indicate something war related. The last part of the song is talking about someone leaving, perhaps the enemy they've been fighting off.
