The music career is killing my liver,
So let's take the train out of the town,
We'll follow it to the nearest body of water,
Let the current carry us out,
And glass by glass new women pass,
Say healthy hearts make dusty songs,
So fifty-fifty I'll be whiskey,
And we'll stumble to the drunken horns,
Well here they come...

And the deeper the cut the bigger the bill,
Hospital just sent mine in the mail,
A tired, lonely boy sleeps in his house,
Kid you sharpen your knife well,
And my girl you played a beautiful song,
But it wasn't your best one, nuh unh,
And the chorus repeated more than once,
So we all hummed along,

Now it is hard, to be a star,
Well me, my friends we sit at the end of the bar,
So come on love, drink green water,
And let the white horse carry youto the beat till you burst,
Cause we beat till we burst, so...

If I fall down now, will you pick me up?
Hey kid if you fall down now, will you pick me up?

And it is hard, to be a star,
When me, my friends we sit at the end of the bar,
So come on love, drink green water,
And let the white horse carry you to the beat till you burst,
Cause we beat till we burst, and so...

If I fall down now, will you pick me up?
Hey kid if we fall down now, we'll just dance it off,

We'll just dance it off (dance it off)[x8]

(If we fall down now) we'll just dance it off, [x6]

    General Commentsuper catchy, fun song.
i saw an angle open up for jamisonparker a few weeks ago, and i had very low expectations because of all this talk of a bright eyes rip off.
long story short, i began smiling halfway through the first song and was dancing halfway through the set.
he had awesome stage presence and just made me want to love life.
if he is actually "tryinig to immitate connor" like everyone says then he has done a shitty job because he plays an entertaining show, something bright eyes has yet to do.

    General CommentTHANK YOU!

all these people keep taling shit about an angle! i havent heard their first album, but the one this is off of doesnt sound like bright eyes at all! personally, i think its better. but that's jusst my opinion.

actually, i dont quite know what this song is about. i have noticed that the 'green water' is a recurring thing on the album. also alcohol, and white horses.

General CommentI love how An Angle is so original. It doesn't sound like anything i've ever heard. Doesn't sound at all like an awful outtake from Bright Eyes' 'Wide Awake' album. People who say that it sounds like Bright Eyes are so wrong, i mean the horns obviously aren't just lifted from 'Old Soul Song', they're completely different! And as for the themes Conor Oberst never ever covered the themes of alcohol and depression, so it's totally original.
An angle are great! Yeah! I love ripoffs!

General Commenthey littlefickybobby, iwaim came out in jan 05, this album in may 05. assuming wikipedia is wrong and this album WASN'T recorded in 2004, that gives him roughly 2 months to steal the stuff, write the song, and record it.

    nice logic.

General CommentThe only copy from bright eyes would be conor's established love for alcohol in his songs, but, nahhhh.
